Oh, if I recall Solas already fought with the god or, to be more exact - seven gods (if you believe the legend, it could even be 14 of them :D ). They were defeated and still can not help themselves. To beat him you have to be the Maker ... or his ... mommy.

You know: "My dear, what are you doing? Again something you're getting into? Go home, wash your hands and sit down, dinner will be for a while."  ;)

Actually, he only fooled them to seal them away, he didn't defeated them, furthermore, according to the legends, Andruil or Anais could put Solas on his knees with ease; Andruil was about to rape him for over a year and Anaris wanted to take the crap out of him, he ultimately was able to escape only because they wounded each other and had to heal.

So he used he used them against each other and he was the ultimate winner. What is he Loki if we take real world myths?

More or less, yes, with the exception that Loki does what he does merely because he wants to screw the others.

No no you don't need to be a god to beat Solas. I'm sure there will be some Old Kingdom Elven artifact like the musicbox from Fable 2 that can sap his power rendering him vulnerable or something.

I think it's far more likely we'll find some way to exploit a weakness in Solas' godlike power, rather than matching him at full strength.

Remember Corypheus? "We have to destroy his dragon, which will neutralize his body-hopping abilities just long enough that when we kill him in single-combat, it'll be for good!"

yeah that's my feeling too they'll create a loophole that makes Solas vulnerable like Corypheus's dragon. Assuming he is the protagonist in the next game of course. The main goal of DA4 will likely be figure out what it is.

Probably our character ascend to god in some way, like in DA:I we can became servant of Mythal drinking dirty water.

I don't think you need to be a god to defeat Solas.  You might not even need to "defeat" him at all, depending on your goals.  If you chose to "change his mind," I'd expect there to be some nonviolent solution.  Hopefully anyway.  That might be a ruse and we may have to kill him anyway, but that would severely negate any reason for having such a major option in the first place.

I've speculated on this before, but given that he and Mythal seem to at least partially share the same goal, drinking the Well of Sorrows may turn out to be a huge mistake.  I kind of hope it does have major consequences, because you're strongly warned that it will.

Solas isn't a god. He is mortal. He uses some magical trick to make sure he can body jump rather than die should his body be destroyed. The secret of effective immortality, as he puts it.

Basically, it means sharing your soul with a dragon, from what the Well of Sorrows tells you regarding Corypheus. That's probably what the Evanuris did as well and Tevinter Magisters eventually learned from the remains of Arlathan. Maybe the bits of soul inside the Archdemons belong to them? So kill all Archdemons and you destroy the Evanuris immortality?

It depends in some of the really old norse tales Loki was also a protector of families though he lost that aspect in later tales. Regardless it would no take a god to defeat Solas no matter how powerful he is.

At the end of the day he is a dreamer and as we've seen before dreamers are capable of pulling off magical acts in spite of the veil no other mage including blood mages are capable of which is why they command such respect amoungst the Tevinter who alone of the modern people of Thadas know how to train dreamers.

Loki was disgusted with the moral decadence of the gods of Valhalla and turned nasty toward them. In one poem, Lokasenna, he lists all the disgusting actions of the gods, such as the wives of Thor, Odin and others seducing Loki and taking him to bed because he was handsome or the arrogance they displayed for being immortal when their immortality came from them eating golden apples, which Loki hides from the gods at one point.

Actually lets tell you all a story from a certain game that could fit here its called Neverwinter Nights:Untrentinde. The hero was student of a powerful wizard and capable teacher. So the teacher was attacked and powerful items where stolen and one of the was they key to a powerful ancient city. So the young hero followed the thief to that  city becoming stronger in the process. After finally catching the thief the thief simple petrifies the hero she was a Meduza. So we are freed and we start our chase again and when we finally catch the thief she became a lich in the games universe this are beings second only to divine and hellish creatures of high rank.

So what happens well we kill the lich why well we where stronger then her and a sacrifice for her lich status was that she could not use its petrifying powers anymore.

It seems that she was not stronger then the hero she just had something that we could not defend against. Basically the villain wanted to be stronger but in the end the power was not worth the price.

Why well this one is strong enough to defeat one if he uses the power of a god the next has to fight Solas and well he is a freaking god the strongest of all that are not the maker.
He is scary strong so any chance to beat him is to be a god also. So what do you think will the next protagonist be a god?

I'm pretty sure Solas bleeds when struck, no need to give him his own medicine.

Solas will inevitably fail his scheme and probably feel bad, and so remove his prescence from the world by himself, is what I think. If that means killing himself, banishing himself, slumbering or locking himself away I don't know... but I think he will probably be the one to end himself.

Just my guess of why we won't need some 'god' of a protagonist to counter Solas. He might be powerful but his followers aren't, damaging them followers will probably be what brings his demise is my prediction.

I would love it imo would be badass rather then relying on cheap tactics to wear him down
