Whilst you're not wrong, there's really no point in the first three replies either if you're only posting to get someone to change their mind.

Also, I've only replied once!

I think Qun's just posting a general thought since Qis appears set  in their own head canon that their Dalish warden alone out of every other players' Mahariels was healthy enough to win gold at the Thedas olympics.  No amount of argument is going to change the mind of someone so set in their ways they continue to deny/argue their interpretation is the only viable one regardless of how much evidence is presented not only in game,  but by everyone else on the forums as well.

Denial is one of the five stages of grief after all, so I guess it's understandable.

It's not just Duncan that says you are sick, other characters comment on how you look ill as well. The game makes it very clear you are ill, it just gives you the option to put on a brave face about it. Like in Trespasser, you are given the option to say things are fine when something is obviously going on with the mark.

No one says Mahariel is sick other than Duncan...Merill say Mahariel look pale, well she just wake up from the bed, everyone look pale when wake up from the bed. Only Duncan say Mahariel is sick, even Keeper don't actually believe that, but because she's not sure about it she allow Duncan to take Mahariel for the joining

One of the dialogue say "Dead men walking? This is dark magic, not Darkspawn", remember that no Darkspawn in the ruin other than the Blighted bear, the mirror have nothing to do with Darkspawn, and the Darkspawns appearing there have nothing to do with Tamlen touching the mirror. The Keeper also confirm Duncan mistaken about it earlier but Duncan manage to convince her with his white lie

It was Tamlen who touch the mirror anyway, Mahariel don't

The great thing about this kind of headcanon is that it's invulnerable to disproof. It's almost as good as IT.

Personally, I prefer to keep any discussion to three replies max. Nobody can change anyone's mind about anything.

Yeah, I tried to move on, but something just made me feel compelled to come back in, for no good reason.

Okay, this time, for real, just the most important thing: Dalish Wardens are great!

Feeling sick is player's choice in dialogue option, my Mahariel feel perfectly fine

But now you are using a reality filter.  Everyone else thinks the character is sick, not just Duncan.  You can decide to not have your character feel sick, but that still wouldn't make Duncan a liar.

You're sick with the darkspawn taint. Duncan says so, Marethari says so, everyone says so. You saying it's not true doesn't make it so.

It's amazing how often people seem to think that their own personal headcanon trumps actual canon stated directly in the actual game and/or direct statements by developers.

Duncan not only lie about the sickness, he also lie about the mirror, it's not Tevinter origin.

The reason he destroy it is because to seal off any chance anyone could discover it's true origin and it's true nature, and thus he manage to convince the Keeper that Mahariel is sick even she already been cured. What else the reason he destroy the mirror? Darkspawn don't come from the mirror, they dig tunnel underground, not going through mirror.

If you played the games, you would know some of the mirrors lead underground...

They are perfectly capable of walking through a magic portal once it's been opened.

Says who exactly? What do you possible know about what Darksawn use and what not. For all we know, they can use everything, humans, elfs and dwarfs can use, if stumble across. They are tainted, not stupid after all.

But I guess this discussion is pointless and I'm pretty sure, we're wasting our time with a troll here or someone who didn't bother reading codex entries or listeining to NPCs

I'm pretty sure she's a troll. I'm even pretty sure she's been banned at least twice.

You wouldn't happen to mean literally everyone on this thread? Because without getting into the truth of that accusation, there's only one way you could think that there isn't even one person on this thread who is not a troll who has been banned multiple times.

There's no tunnel into the deep roads in the complex.  Just the mirror.  Duncan may or may not have lied about the mirror.  He may not have known that the mirrors predate Tevinter, or he may have just said it was Tevinter so the elves wouldn't object to him breaking it.  But since the darkspawn were coming from the mirror and those elves who touched it while it was open were tainted it did have to be broken.

I'm just not a fan. Too much hate of humans and not enough dialogue on how to get the elves moving in a positive direction. I also don't think the game handles the nonhuman races particularly well, one reason they eliminated the nonhuman PCs in DA2.

Maybe I just didn't go far enough with that Warden, but I'd much rather read mackillians's fanfictions than do that origin.

I'm going to be mildly trolled if you didn't mean "from glass houses."

Dalish Elf and City Elf are my favorite Origins.

As others have said, Dalish Elf is the consummate outsider, stranger in a strange land, learning about Ferelden at the same time that the player is. For me, my motivation to continue after the Joining was to stop the Blight, and so save my clan, any other elven clans in Ferelden, and really, just civilization, because the Blight would not stop.

I really tried to like elves in DAO - really I dearly tried. Until DAI came along -I was only playing as humans, Cassandra changed that for me, apperately.

Duncan not only lie about the sickness, he also lie about the mirror, it's not Tevinter origin.

It is commonly known during that time that nearly every ruin was Tevinter in origin, even Tameln and Mahariel are surprised to find elven statues and artifacts in such ruins and wonders why such ruins exists with human and elven aspects at the same time.

So he may be wrong, but for the common knowledge at that time, he was not.

I hated elves in DA:O because of their look (little humans with pointed ears, and then I discovered a mod that allows you to make them appear like in DA2, but less Avatar's aliens looking and it became my most played origin.

I loved that mod. It rekindled my love for elves in the game and I got several Surana playthroughs using it.   Before that I tried as hard as I could to make her look as elfy as I could.
