Im struggling so hard to get past the shielded NPCs defenses. It doesn't seem to matter when I attack or wait I always attack into their shield. I try to wait for their move. If im lucky ill sometimes be able to deathblow them down via an add, but otherwise it does't matter if I melee, Throwing Blades or Charge them as they do their attack I always seem to just hit into that shield. And if it's two of them or more I'm 100% dead.

 

As you understand from above I'm currently playing as Silent Sister, is there a move that gets through their defenses?

I guess war horn, but is there anything else?

Parry, combat roll, hit them on a elevated surface (stairs), war horn.

But the forums favorite answer to this is:

let someone else handle them.

1. learn to PI

2. Charge them from the back to knock them down.

3. Hidden blade from back to stagger, then finish them with throwing blades.

4. If playing Peri or below, just poke them with your daggers at their shield until they die.

5. Hit them during their attack animations.

6. Walk away.

I like war horn myself. PI ammy makes a huge difference but the drop rate on it is stupid low. I only got it because of one of the big victory chest rewards.

I never used war horn again since I got the PI (before then I still used combat roll). Still can't see the value in it. I can see why it would be a good CC skill & xp generator, but the 20% armor reduction is, well, unnecessary (for SS anyway). Guard damage would be nice, if only the enemy guards isn't think as paper.

 

Oh how I miss the single player combat roll so bad... 500% dmg with next to no CD and stamina cost. (got a strong suspicion that the actually damage is much higher than 500% personally)

ur not running away fast enough, or stealth let him kill ur team m8s then disconnect..... safe

War horn upgraded actually does a lot of guard dmg and is pretty useful in heartbreaker against fear demons, as well as one shotting shield bros who have a ton of guard, since it does like 1,200% weapon dmg to guard. The most dangerous enemies in HB aren't immune to panic so it's pretty op for that difficulty. Of course it's not necessary but it does have it's usages but it comes to personal preference as most players hate chasing panicked enemies down.

I'll always say war horn, as, something I've mentioned before is; if you've a weapon with an ability that procs then war horn+ can trigger it.

Only the upgraded war horn will give you the 20% armor reduction and the 1,200% guard dmg bonus on enemies. What's interesting about the upgrade is that it still does a lot of dmg to enemies even without guard. Non upgrade just gives you panic/fear.

You can charge them from the front to knock them down, if you wait for them to swing.  Really getting them to swing and then hitting them is about the most basic way to deal with them.  Becomes problematic when you keep adding more and more at a time though.  Then War Horn or Parry make life easier.
