rjshae requested a scaladar here: http://forum.bioware...ers/?p=19995880

Description: "Scaladar are automatons, scorpion-like guardian monsters originally created by a mage named Trobriand. Rumor has it that some of these cold, methodical killers are released with orders to simply destroy all living things they encounter – for that is how many of them behave."

So in essence it's a scorpion construct. This version uses textures adapted from the NWN2 Blade Spider.

Get your scaladar here: http://neverwinterva...scorpion-reskin

Look's incredible. We needed scorpions (used beetles as a sub), thanks :P

Scorpions have been out for a while and are not mine. This is just a reskin for rjshae's request. Have you seen my beetle reskins?

Note:

The texturing around the head is asymmetrical in the original, presumably because of how the texture was applied to the model. I lack the skill to fix that so the scaladar has the same. Either don't look to close or get someone to fix that. :P

The weird shadowing and the onhit flash that can happen are part of the original scorpion model as well.

Yeah, I realized after I posted it that it was actually someone elses and that you skinned it :P

But hey, you're welcome for the gratitude ;p

Very cool looking, Kamal. The texture alignment isn't perfect but it's probably more than good enough. Many thanks. :)

Someone else could probably fix the alignment on the head section. I don't have the skill. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult.

This version uses textures adapted from the NWN2 Blade Spider.

The texturing around the head is asymmetrical in the original, presumably because of how the texture was applied to the model.

This explains why the texture alignment is not perfect in the reskinned version.

I wouldn't think it would be too difficult.

I had a quick look, and the UV mapping has to be redone completely, or the scaladar version of the texture has to match the original one in the way the various parts of the scorpion are laid down.

To me it seemed like the darker section where the "head" meets the "body" is pretty straight, but then the eyes and the area around the mouth feelers or whatever they are is crooked. If you make the standard scorpion texture much brighter you can see the same asymmetry in the stock creature, it's hidden by the darkness of the stock texture. I tried twisting that section of the texture around some, but it would not get much better than it is.

The part I noticed was the section further along the back where there is a clear texture seam. The pincers texture also seems a little chaotic. But most players are unlikely to even notice such details unless they stare at the corpse, and for all we know it could have been built that way. :)

Anyway, it was listed in a guide to Undermountain and it seems like something that the mad wizard Halaster would use to populate some of his dark, dank chambers. They could be gnawing on a stack of duergar corpses when the PCs wander in...

There's no file to download from the Vault. Did it get removed?
