So I unlocked the Krogan Battle master and took it on a Silver Solo match. No equipment aside from gear.

That kit is so freaking ridiculous. I went against geth and not even the primes were match to me. On Targets objective I focused on them while bombers and pyros tried to take me down, unsuccessfully.

I got 10 waves survived medal and I guess this kit is Gold viable as my main sources of damage are charge and melee.

It was a lot of fun playing as this class, even more as the vorcha sentinel. I still need to try it off host though.

I did 175k points. That seemed quite a nice amount of points for a Silver but I'm no expert. I guess high scores are expected on solos as you get all the enemies for yourself :P

Yes but on Gold Combat Engineers seem to be able to one-shot you. Or at least they can one-shot me. :(

Running very low on battery life. Think I'll set it to auto pilot and play as the Krogan Vanguard next. ... Hope I still remember how to play him. It's Heavy melee then charge, right?

Combat Engineers one shoting people? Those guys are weak, aside from their turrets... Is this a bug?

Well, geths are usually a strong enemy, with multiple staggering stuff. However it seems that the Krogan can't be staggered. I also played a Solo Bronze against Reaper and that was far too easy. However on Wave 9 I made quite a rookie mistake and charged a small group of Cannibals that was close to a silent Banshee. Unfortunately I only noticed her when it was too late. She instantly sync-killed me moment I got beside her.

But I was about to get 10 waves survived again. Of course Silver would have been a bit harder, but nothing I couldn't handle.

I haven't tried Cerberus nor Collectors though. I won't try Collectors by my choice anyway.

Charge then heavy melee? I guess you're joking about doing the opposite. It works if the enemy is in range, I'd say it's ok to do it.

Yes, they use a Phalanx. Nothing really dangerous for a krogan vanguard though.

Geth have an other particularity : they can't sync-kill you. So playing a tanky and relatively stagger resistant vanguard like the Battlemaster is indeed god mode VS them, even in gold. The challenge with the kroguard is more to deal with the multiple sync-kill units you get when you play the other factions on gold, and even more on platinum.

Well, I'd say there are 2 sync-killing units that I really fear: banshees and phantoms. The rest can easily be avoided and I pretty much never get synched killed by brutes, atlases, abominations or praetorians.

The banshee is indeed an issue as you can't roll. I'm very used to roll and against banshees it's very tricky to avoid them only running. But when I get a stronger Acolyte, I can bring one to deal with them.

I am much more worried about getting synced by brutes and scions because it's painfully embarrassing. Everyone gets grabbed by banshees and phantoms occasionally.

And no need to worry about abomb sync kills unless you play with BSNers. Pugs don't have the wherewithall to hunt you down relentlessly with those hydrogen bomb human grenades until you're out of rage gels.

But you will be banned from Tuchanka for doing that !  Krogans use shotguns !  :P

Banhees and Phantoms are for sure the most dangerous enemies regarding sync-kills. I guess that you already know that, but they can't sync-kill you if you're not on the same vertical level (higher or lower, when you're on a ramp for example). There are many maps where you can abuse this trick.

Of course, you can also stay away from them, letting your teammates dealing with Banshees and Phantoms while you take care of the other units.

I didn't ge tthe abomb sync kills part... Also the hydrogen bomb and rage gels. Sorry, you used terms that are unknown to me yet in the game :P

I intended to use both, but both may hinder my cooldowns. I might just not use the Acolyte anyway, since it's only I. It'll take some time until I get Acolyte X.

About the ramp, I already knew about this, I just didn't try the trick yet. I'd need to make sure that the sync killer stays in the ramp while I charge/melee them. Will try that, thanks!

No. Krogan use real weapons, not silly space-stripper pistols. Just learn the sync animations/triggers (should be a thread on it in the Resource Library), then you don't have to be that pyjak in the lobby with an acolyte on his Kroguard.

That's an idea. I like the Power Efficiency one too, to reduce the cd on charge.

I must admit that this is much better as any weapon other than the shotgun will reduce charge's cd.

This is the build I use. he is my main melee character:

http://kalence.drupa...23N56362!G.FE8L

Keep in mind you get to remove (glitch) the weight off these mods on this weapon and your BC cooldown goes to 4.44 seconds

As Loufi / Qy mentioned, use a combination of different level (ie slopes, stairs etc.) to avoid synch kills until you learn the animations of the various synch kill units

Edit: Kroguard actually makes pretty good use of power efficiency modules also .. although with a high level cyclonic he is unkillable except for synchs

Cooldowns are overrated (we're usually talking about a difference of a second or less), and the Acolyte is a niche weapon (i.e. worthless against armor, which all bosses have). But that's beside the point anyways. Self-respecting Krogan don't use silly little ping-pong ball launchers, they use real guns- do yourself a favor and throw the Claymore or Graal on him. Besides, Kroguard is all about melee and there's no Omniblade for pistols.

^This, You'll be more worthy of trading headbutts with other Krogans with a Claymore, than with a toy Asari gun.

I'll have you know that pretty much all of my asari(save for justicar... she always was the odd one) like their shotties. The adept, vanguard and huntress are ready for one mean cat fight when there's Claymore on the line. Three babes and only so much of the High Lord to go around... there were casualties even.

Among the onlookers suffering heart attack from too much sexyiness, but still!

Valkyrie is a simple gal, but try to take her Raider away and she'll annihilate you.

Similar to the build I have, with a few minor differences. Btw, how does the weight glitch works again?

My Claymore is I... I can try and see how that goes. Also, at least in SP, I always like the Wraith more than the Claymore since it's more forgiving (2 shot clip vs 1).

However I do not own a Wraith yet, so Claymore would be all I have. But it's true that I seldom have to shoot with the kroguard. It's charge/melee most of the times, and constant raging :)

That tech armor looks so damn weird on the Valkyrie. It would be cool to duel in this game, and although balance would certainly come into place, it all comes down to skill anyway.

Asari with toy weapons are ok, bigger characters can be weird with small weapons. I once equipped an Executioner on my Jugg. That was odd...

Sure, but at least an Asari can get away with using an Asari pistol without being a pyjak. Not the case for (self-respecting) Krogan.

The Juggy's weapons are scaled up a bit in size. I put on a Black Widow on my Juggy, the thing was slightly smaller than a street lamp.

Wraith is a pretty good option too. Any shotgun, really. Especially since, as you note, its main purpose is just to hold your Omni-blade; the only enemies you'll really be shooting at are the ones you can't always safely melee (which is pretty much limited to Banshees, Atlases and Crabs- as long as your force on BC is high enough you can safely charge/melee Phantoms).

You should still get familiar with the boss sync triggers/animations in any case, pretty crucial to satisfying/successful use of the (melee) Kroguard. For instance, you can melee Atlases all you like until they take a melee swipe at you- then its primed to sync and you need to back off until it starts shooting/missiling again. Banshees are safe once they go into their non-glowing, standing around mode. Phantoms and Brutes are like Atlases, they need to melee to be primed for a sync. And as Max said, no enemy can sync you if you're at a different elevation than them (so you can stand on a ramp and melee any enemy, regardless of whether they're primed to sync or not).

Yeah I can't stand using pistols or smg's on him because the size disparity just looks silly.

None of my blue babes would be caught dead with that squirt gun. If you must use a heavy pistol, use a real one. Carnifex, Talon, stuff like that...

Any pre-expansion weapon works. After you have equipped said weapon with extra weight mods, you go to the character select screen (Triangle button), then cancel out of it .. you have now removed the extra weight from the mods.

Remember though, it only works on original weapons (or roughly half the guns in the game)

Edit: if you go back into the weapon selection screen after this, it will re-equip the weight of the mods

2nd Edit: Also note if there is a mid game host migration the weight from the mods will be re-applied
