Now that would be interesting. I would probably do it anyway for the drama :D

But who would enfore these rules? We'll be a galaxy away from the Citadel.

I don't follow. What makes you think that Ryder has zero oversight? You are part of an organization the pathfinders why wouldn't they have regulations that they enforce. What you think if colonists commit a crime people just ignore it because the citadel is a galaxy away?

That's really interesting.  Playing DA:I without a romance is honestly something I'd never do.  Let's face it, if there are adorable characters offering snuggles, I'm gonna take them.  :D

But it's good to know that if you're not into that stuff the game still holds up.  It's not something I would ever have found out on my own so thank you for sharing  :)

I mainly play femshep in Me trilogy, but I have played maleshep as a no romance trilogy run which I found to be one of the best plays of the trilogy.

I played him as romancing Ash but chose to save the diversion team vs the bomb and Ash was who I left with the bomb. So I role-played maleshep as someone who never got over losing Ash even if they never consummated their relationship.

I am not a big Liara fan so i find the Romance options for Femshep who I play the most limiting as a straight male gamer playing a female protagonist. So I have done a few no romance playthroughs with Femshep as I get tired of the same romances.

Cassandra is pretty, maybe some people are just more into conventional look.

See, Cassandra is pretty.

Heh, nice. That kind of looks like the PC I made for FO4, only she's a freckly faced green eyed redhead. Kinda spoilery though, because I didn't realize that Curie could be anything more than the floating bot like Codsworth.

On another note, I really dislike how bad the facial animation is in Fallout 4. I get that this isn't Bethesda's bag, but it'd be nice if they upped the ante a bit graphics wise. I guess at least the mouth animation isn't as bad as Life is Strange.

Renegade Ryder don't care about no rules. Of course those regulations are more like guidelines.

What they care for is irrelevant. If they break those regulations, there should be consequences.

It's a fair guess that breaking regulations is probably not much of a possibility in the game, mainly because Mass Effect isn't going to turn into Brig Simulator 2016/7, save for any special circumstances, like when Anderson helps Shepard take the Normandy despite being held on lockdown. Of course, this is putting aside the fact that our character will be out in the wilds left to their own devices most of the time. I doubt there would be much room for oversight when exploring the hostile outback of Andromeda.

I agree. But what would those be? Did our superiors go with us on this expedition? Are we not in charge the same way Shepard was in charge after he was made Spectre and the command of the normandy was taken from him?

I'm all for the having to decide wether the punishment is worth having sex with your crewmates, but if the nearest authority figure is a galaxy away there is no realistic way to enfore those regulations.

Funny thing is, most SWTOR classes are better as female.

I've heard that too. I play all classes as female so far I like them all even the least popular class story (Smuggler and Consular)... but female toons have the most boring straight romances and they're all missing force-sensitive male LI. My Twi'lek smuggler really hate Corso...

I'll never understand anyone who thinks Josie is pretty. Rather unattractive in my opinion.
Cass is certainly attractive if unconventional.

I see where you're coming from with Josie, but I still think she has a happy, pretty face.  If I put it in a CC however I wouldn't be able to resist tweaking her nose a little.  And I love her hair, Cassandra's too.  Wish I could do that with mine but I'd just end up looking like I'd been attacked by a bear.  Hair is not my strong point.  Come to think of it I cut my own hair too...I have more in common with Sera than I realised.   (but hopefully mine's not as bad  )

I like that.  Poor Shep, her death would have been driving him on, not caring if he died because he'd already lost the woman he loved.  The drama! I had no romance in ME1 in my Tali run and I didn't miss it at all.  But I am soppy so give me a LI option in ME2 and 3 and I'll take it.

I can imagine the options are pretty bad for you as femShep, at least Garrus can be your bro, but other than that they pretty much suck if you're not a Liara fan.  I hope to goodness they give femRyder some better options this time round.

Btw, a straight male gamer mainly playing femShep?  Well Sir, you're now one of my favourite ppl.   :D

The amount of guys who can't play girls and seem to think a male protagonist is the only option gets old real quick.

I thought that image was from a really old game, I'm astonished it's Fallout 4.  It looks worse than ME2.

IKR. I also played a female twi lek smuggler (with the chubbiest body type cause hell with all the stereotypes) and ended up romancing Lana Beniko. Probably will do the same with Matoya, my togruta Inquisitor. Also female agent. Might try Vector dunno. Naturally my trooper is also female (Jennifer Hale). Grey DeLisle almost made me pick a female bounty hunter, but I really wanted to romance Mako. Same goes for the Knight and Kira and the Warrior and Vette. Will see if male Consular gets anything good.

Personally I think the smuggler story is the best. No idea why it isn't popular.

Because people have different tastes. I for example think she looks much better than Miranda.

I don't know.... I still prefer this Cass.... but its probably the hair physics....

Dawn of the Seeker Cassandra is my favorite Cassandra as well, from appearance to voice to personality to etc.

Great, another Mass Effect 2 scenario.  -_-

We don't know if the Pathfinders or whatever we are are above the rules like Spectres were. I hope we're not, because that was a pretty ridiculous premise then and would be even more ridiculous of a premise now.

They won't be a galaxy away. They'll be on the main ship, so in the same cluster as you if we are to trust the rumors.

Yeah that's the question. A bit of personal drama. I say: Bring. It. On.

*Drum roll*

Makes you take care of their personal baggage for them!!

Who says it has to get in the way of true love? There have been some absolutely amazing love stories between two people that doesn't have them breaking rules and regulations.

You would be referring to a non physical romance, right? Two people in love but don't do the deed cause its forbidden?

Mass Effect 2? In Mass Effect, you can casually hang up on the Council, the ruling body that gave Shepard the rank of Spectre and could just as easily have it revoked, every single time with nothing more than their complaining as a result. Set loose the queen of an insect race that ravaged the galaxy? No biggie.

I was referring more to the latter part of your post with that, about "our character will be out in the wilds left to their own devices most of the time". In that game you had no oversight and could do whatever you wanted without repercussion, and what you described sounded similar.

This is off topic but if you haven't seen it already, you may appreciate a series called Legend of the Seeker.

The two main characters fall in love but can't get physical due to reasons stated therein so I won't spoiler it. You will find the sentiment touching that the male character (Richard) stays loyal and faithful despite that physical barrier.

Personally didn't think it was that great (the series) but thought you may appreciate it anyhow.

But that's pretty much the case for ME1 as well. The only time Shepard ever faces any consequences in that game, it's actually kind of stupid, because it wasn't even Shepard's responsibility that the Virmire facility was nuked, but rather the Salarian STG. It's funny how Kirrahe got promoted for doing it, and Shepard got bupkis.

Yeah, the one time you get blasted and in actual fact you just happened to land on a planet that was already going to blow.  Almost everything the Council and Alliances does in ME1 is super headscratching.

If they actually functioned like that the galaxy would've been doomed anyway, to pure stupidity and 'looking the other way'.

I haven't seen the series, but I have read the The Sword of Truth book series the show was based on and yeah that's a good example.

The example I always think of is Colonel Roy Mustang and Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga/anime franchise. Those two have a deep love for each other but since they are both in the military they do not fraternize or get physical.

Point taken. I like how Mass Effect 3 handled it then, where the various governments held you accountable for all your actions or at least kind of. You even start under house arrest for what happened during the Arrival DLC(which unlike Virmire was your fault).

Technically, Arrival wasn't Shepard's fault either; it was Hackett's. Benefits of rank, I suppose.
