Nah it's all good fun. We're having a joke, having a laugh, maintaining a light mood. That's a good thing. Not like that homophobic troglodyte we had here a couple weeks ago.
And we still talk about Andromeda (eventually).
I'd like having the chance to have different approach to romances, like with Alistair in DAO. Basically my character could simply build with him a friendship, and than leave a little flirt, and next time they were at camp he made his move. Or I could have my girl flirt shamelessy with him until he falled for her. And there was the choice to not have sex with him, or, after the first time, having some repeatable "alone time".
I'd like having both: repeatable kiss/time together, or different path possible to the romance. Sex, no sex, just friends with benefits, or going to build a future together once this disaster is settled.
And would be cute having different reactions to choices made, and to events. If my character is being shot in a cutscene, it would feel more natural see her/his LI being preoccupied for her.
Overall, I liked how DAI made the romances, the only little drawback was the limited interaction the characters (LI or not) had with the plot (a part from Solas, and he was the LI with less content). But I guess is the price to pay with expendable companions.
Tbh I just want a haram.
And no DJAetius no woman with a penis.
I'd like more options to meet with your LI in a more casual situation. Something a bit like the citadel DLC. I'm kinda tired of this whole "We are going to die soon, so we should just make out" thing. Don't get me wrong here, I liked the way ME 1-3 worked, but for ME:A I'd like something different ![]()
I guess this is a true story after all.........

You are getting predictable, my friend. Still hilarious tho ![]()

Yes, good point. I did both with Al, my city elf kept flirting until he relented, but my human noble was super shy so I waited for him to make his move. I liked the different approach and that I could do it in my own time, not after a particular quest or anything.
I absolutely agree about your LI reacting to what happens to you. A little more concern both ways if something happens would be great.

Hey it's hard to top Ray Jessel! Gotta stick with the classics. Having said that.........
you wait there's more!!!
1 - Seeing how Shep made some pretty huge decisions like deciding the fate of an entire species, I'd like one or two love interests to have a very bad reaction to some of the decisions you may make. For example, say you could romance a Krogan (that'd be interesting
) but you decided not to cure the genophage. I'd like it to be a point of no return and they dump you there and then. Actual consequences for some of the very polarising choices in the game. Not all the time, not for every romance, but only when truly applicable so that it isn't overused.
2 - Sex. Why oh why can you only sleep with your LI at the END of ME1 and 2??
'Oh look honey, we're probs gonna die, so let's wait till the night before. Hopefully it won't be weird, or awkward, or 'how the heck do you have sex with a turian' sex, and will go really well first time round. It better, apparently it's all we've got.'
Nope. Hate that. Let me take it at my pace please and trigger the scenes when I want to. I mean, wouldn't Tali get sick? Shouldn't you get giggedy giggedy a while before the SM to make sure she's healthy enough to fight? Shouldn't Garrus and femShep "practice" with Mordin's instructional vids a few times?
3 - More cutscenes. I just romanced Iron Bull in my first DA:I run and was really happy with the amount of cutscenes and moments he and my IQ had together. They triggered all the way through the majority of the game so were well paced, and ended with a great scene on the balcony. I'd ask for that amount of dedicated content for every romance, I loved it.
Thoughts?
1. Yes, it would be great if LI's were overall more integrated into the story/main storyline scenes, but what I really want is for them to show some more spine. You know, like real people. Have them get genuinely angry at your pc for some reason or even having them removed from the party after a pretty important decision (like Tali or Qun!Bull).
2. This bothered me as well. Dragon Age romances are much more realistic and "organic" in that regard. Having a sex scene just before the final mission instead of mid-game might seem more dramatic and builds up to the climax (no pun intended, ahem), but it seems a bit naïve and unrealistic. It might suit some "cutesy" relationships like Josephine's (if she would be in Mass Effect), but it's weird to see characters like Miranda or Garrus waiting for "the right time" for weeks or even months after basically professing their love to the pc.
Having two sex scenes would be great, I think. One "milestone" sex scene at some point mid-game and another one just before the final mission for the extra drama (which could just be a short scene with your LI visiting your cabin, a few lines of dialogue, and a hug/kiss/whatever before fading to black). Kind of like in DAI, with the relationship sex scene and the post-story, "afterparty" scene. And being able to have some private time with the LI at any point in the game would be a nice extra too. But that could just be me asking for more fluff.

I know right? Alistair's bad for that, he'll agree with everything you do, even abandoning Redcliffe, which I guess then makes the Landsmeet more surprising if you go a certain way with it.
The last DA had Qun!Bull and the last ME had Tali both showing backbone, so hopefully this is the way they're going now.
No way Miranda would wait, she'd jump your bones pretty quick given the dossiers on her in LoTSB (broke my heart when I read hers). Don't think Jacob would wait either. I like your idea of 2 sex scenes, it would work really well the way you explained it. One in your time frame, whenever that may be, and the other linked to the game's timeline. There's nothing wrong with fluff, as long as it doesn't quite reach the heights of Citadel DLC level fluff.
Has anyone linked God of War, yet?
I would like to have more choices and variables inside the romance. Romances in ME1-3 were very simple. In order to romance someone you keep hitting flirting-dialogue option everytime it appears and there is your romance. Though ME3 was little better on this, in romance scenes you could choose a little what to say and so on, I'd still like even more choices on what to say and I'd like to have option to miss some flirts as well if they don't fit to your character and situation without screwing up whole romance in the process. For example one flirt option in Thane's romance was right after when he told how his wife died and was very sad about it- it totally was not right time to flirt with him.
if it was up to me I'd cut down romances to MAYBE 3 options that you can start at the beginning of the game and then continue throughout the main story
No more 3 conversations and a bang
The only thing I want from romances is that there is a way to have a happy ending. That is all I want. I'm tired of romances where it's not possible. Of course it's nice if there is more content with your LI but then again there is a risk that I don't like this content. Maybe my PC behaves the way I don't want her to behave or I will have to deal with issues like cheating when romancing a certain character.
Whatever they do, I hope they don't follow the crap job they did with the gay romance in the last game, basically copy and paste Kaidan from Femshep and cutting out a bunch of scenes and contents then relegate the NPC option as the gay option. Waited for 3 games, and I was a bit letdown. I just hope they do more than just throwing us a bone this time.

word! They went as far as cutting **** out of the mShep/Kaidan romance. FemShep got the better deal in the Kaidan department

I would actually be happy with that outcome if I could get a happy ending.
The only way to make romances feel realistic instead of like a wooden rail-dialogue-romance-clicking sessions here and there - there must be only few romance options in ME:A, but those romance options must have truly a lot of well written dialogue, scenes, cutscenes, decisions which are evaluated by our L.I. on every step and things to do during leisure time together.
My pick would be to just have:
1-2 Human males, 1-2 Human females, 1 Turian male, 1 turian female, 2-3 members of new species introduced into the franchise - so that would amount to a total of maximum 9 romance options and even then this would require a lot of effort to make each romance enjoyable to pursue.
Few good romances > numerous shallow pointless romances comprised mostly of clicking through infantile dialogue like some romances in ME2-3

a friends with benefits relationship that has a sense of camaraderie to it.
...and a threesome
