Yeah, it's weird. "In an interesting coincidence, today is also the day we publicly announce your eviction from the Inquisition! What a happy coincidence. I hope you enjoy the wealth of very slanderous materials Josephine has written about you on the way out. :)"

Leliana could always plant the idea into everyone's heads that she's a maleficar that used blood magic for political gain. So Vinty.

I want to be able to choose between buttsekcs and normal sekcs before every cutscenes.

Even the ones that aren't supposed to be sekcsee.

i would consider the kaiden/ashley decision of the first game to be part of the "romance mechanic", and would love to see something like that again in the series.. imo, that was one of the more compelling choices of ANY bioware game.

i dont mind LGBT options as long as they are not an obvious political ploy.

i would not have a problem with a love interest betraying you.

if there is marriage in the game.. make divorce a possibility as well.

make one of the LIs be a "common" NPC.. and not necessarily one of the core characters.

Can you give an example from the past games of a common NPC the level you are thinking of?

Probably said already, but for me, I want a female heroine that doesn't sounds like she wants to jump every guy's bones like in ME2 and maybe the heart icon like they used in Dragon Age so we know when we are flirting or friendly and more variety for the females thank you very much! Maybe even a LI that's on the enemies side. That would be fun! The male or female hero constantly facing a certain bad guy/woman and can form a romance that can end tragically or happily based on your choices made during each encounter.

she is probably the closest example i could come up with.

basically it would be someone you develop a bit of a rapport with through a quest line or maybe even series.. but the quest series is completely optional and not critical to the main plot.

I'm female (romance only males) and even I would have romanced her! She was awesome! I guess Kelly was the closest to a romanceable NPC.

Take notes from Witcher 3 romance mechanics and sex scenes. Nuff said.

A DA2 Isabela-esque buxom curvy sassy love interest! Wait maybe that's not a mechanic. Well she could be a mechanic, like that gal on Firefly!

More sweet social and casual bonding and fewer awkward animated sex scenes or impassioned declarations of love.  Less talk of having children we'll never see between people who barely know each other too.

That's all I'm asking for in that department.

Why not have both? I would prefer that they work on sex scenes anyway. Having sex with underwear, fade to black that moves to fast, and poorly done sex scenes isn't much of an experience with romance and sex.

Because the sex scenes are completely pointless. They're not engaging, they're not sexy, they don't look natural, they don't enrich the characters in any way, they're ten seconds long and they somehow seem to mark the point where there's nothing more to the relationship. I think I can do without all that. More tender character moments and less fake sex and television drama please.

No more of this "players choice" bullshit where all romances and flirtation have to be initiated by the PC would be an awesome start.

Oh yes, the potential LIs taking more initiative and acting on their own feelings would be great too. So long as people don't suddenly start assuming they're in a relationship with you. Not that Bioware would ever make a blunder like that. Ahem.

It's natural to have sex with your partner as long it has a balance between the two. A relationship without sex will be pretty boring and will not last long. You really think that men would want to have a relationship without sex with their girlfriend or anyone else? Hell no! We want to have sex and have a good time with it. And it is going to have sex scenes it's meant for a mature audience, and if you don't want sexuality from a mature game don't buy it.

No Mass Effect game to date has spanned enough time for Shepard to form what would constitute an adult romantic relationship much less get bored with one, the only LI s/he has even been continually social with for more than a month or two by the end of the trilogy is Kaiden. Your argument doesn't hold water, on top of completely missing the point. I don't mind the characters having sex in the slightest, I just don't need a "mature" sex scene between awkward animated dolls demonstrated as the pinnacle of romance.

And the "if you don't like it don't buy it" BS is silly, just because you don't agree with me doesn't mean I can't critique parts of a game while enjoying it overall.

I fully support romancing mechanics.  They need love too.

"What, you think we kidnap Quarians and make them do the hard work?"

Hey don't be mad at me if you don't like a game that has adult content, if you see a label that says sexual content you gonna see sex in the game, but if you have ideas of what they can do to make sex scenes more appealing and sexy I'm all ears. And don't take what I said as offensive we just might have a misunderstanding.

Oh I enjoy sex scenes that are actually worth watching. I've yet to see an RPG provide anything that didn't just look ridiculous, though. Kind of my point. Since they won't actually cross the line into outright softcore porn and the attempts are mostly just eyesores, I'd rather they spend that extra time and money on more and better dialogue. We do seem to have a misunderstanding, but where you got the idea that I don't like Mass Effect I can't imagine.

Because the romances get only so many resources, and resources devoted to sex scenes that I don't want will result in the rest of the romance not being as good as it could be.

You are wrong in so many places in this post.

Sex =/= Romance.

Personally I disagree, they are not pointless, just as other tender/intimate moments aren't pointless.
