Honestly, the only scene that was missing in GayKaidanmance was the scene where FemShep sat on his lap for a kiss and Kaidan had to lift FemShep in his arm. Its one of the thing I doubt would look right for heavier set BroShep.

 

Bioware is rather formulaic : You recruit, you do their loyalty test, you initiate interest, courtship, sex, crisis/separation, realizing that the two of you were meant for each other, affirming love.

 

And screw damsel in distress + love at first sight trope.....

 

I guess obligatory asari, turian, quarian mance... ... predictable. I want a krogan romance. Specifically someone who spouts poetry about how he adores my petals.

Sex means nothing to me. I just want a dialog option from the main character that lets your LI know how much you love them. The whole Tali romance, I felt like Tali loved Shepard, and Shepard was superficial and just kinda "meh" about the whole thing. I loved Tali's lines, but Shepard came off like an idiot most of the time. Like the post-sex scene in ME3 where Tali is like "Whenever it becomes too much to bear, I'll be here for you" he's like "... thanks." and walks off.

Or the Extended Cut scene where he's like "Forget about me. Go build your home on Rannoch." and Tali is like "I already have a home." Ah, Tali...

I want a more diverse set of functions of what we can do or say during romantic moments. When the dialogue wheel appears, I want it to say something like this...

I would like to have more choices and variables inside the romance. Romances in ME1-3 were very simple. In order to romance someone you keep hitting flirting-dialogue option everytime it appears and there is your romance. Though ME3 was little better on this, in romance scenes you could choose a little what to say and so on, I'd still like even more choices on what to say and I'd like to have option to miss some flirts as well if they don't fit to your character and situation without screwing up whole romance in the process. For example one flirt option in Thane's romance was right after when he told how his wife died and was very sad about it- it totally was not right time to flirt with him.

 

That happened to me with Blackwall.  Honestly I was leading him on....I wanted Bull tbh but I was hedging my bets  ....but anyway we met on the battlements once I got to Skyhold and the flirt option felt inappropriate for my IQ, so I said something else instead.  That was that apparently, I could never flirt again.  At least let us have a couple of chances.

Yeah. The romance itself is very nice and you should definitely give it a chance. Steve is absolutely adorable. The love scene isn't bad but I just kept thinking how I would feel in the same situation where my lover would refuse to look me in the eyes after our night together and then would hurry away into the bathroom. Would definitely cause some hurt feelings and make warning bells start to ring inside my head.

Yeah, it's funny... Shep, the main character of the whole trilogy, seems to have the worst dialog, for some reason.

Regarding the sex count me in the camp of hoping flirt, flirt and only have sex just before ending goes in the bin.

Have to say i adored the romance my hawke had with Isabela in DA2, definitely felt like it went through different stages flirting, hooking up through to devoted couple, which is something i'd like to see a lot more of.

Blackwall! He ninjamanced me so hard ... I was nice to him and flirted only once, then I went on my merry way to romance Cullen but he was all like "Nope, you're already with someone" 

 

And I really really really want a happy ending with my LI too for once, I'm still not over the goodbye scene with Kaidan, thank you very much BW

We could go out to places like the Citadel, Omega, Rachni infested planet (if it were ME3 i know there will be different things in Andromeda) and enjoy some company.

I agree. Not seeing the flirt option ever again after not choosing it when it appeared for the first time really gets on my nerves. It's like the game is telling you that the attraction you might feel for that particular character only exists at the exact moment the game offers you the first flirting sentence.

"Oh, you didn't want to flirt with this character when I wanted, with the words I wanted? Too bad. You will never get to be happy with him/her ever again!" *evil laughter*

What counts is not the mechanics (which are part of the content, a detail) but the substance and the context in which you place them.

Horrible scripted romances will produce scareful effects (obviously clapped by the badtasters), no matter how complicate the mechanics are in them.

Also personally don't want it optional as that would likely it wouldn't be brought up again.

I feel the same as you. The main thing I didn't like about the romance parts was with every character in Dragon Age and Mass Effect that I romanced (Alistair, Anders, Cullen and Kaiden) is that they never had many romance cut scenes together, it was always only a couple of scenes including one sex scene (although it was slightly better in DA: I). If it wasn't for the flirting and romantic talks they had together throughout the game, romantically it would have been rather dull. 

 

It would be nice to have an option to have more romance scenes and I agree with you that not making us wait until the end of the game for the sex scene and having more than one would make a nice change. Taking our own time might be nice as well.   If there are people who only want one sex scene and others who want more, then to make it fair on everyone the ones who only want it once can either skip the cut scene or they can have their characters politely decline and say "maybe another time" or something. I'm sure they can say that without getting dumped, I mean, we all say that in real life anyway lol.  That way people who want to see more can and the people who want to see less can, all fair.
