Something I would like is the option to do other things with your love interest, outside of their respective story arcs. For example, take them out on a date. Something like in the Citadel DLC, but not specific, or maybe something specific for different companions. And these would be repeatable, preferably. One, it would add another level of content that is completely optional, as are the romances themselves and two, this would allow you to take the romance at your complete own pace., instead of just relying on after main mission cutscenes.
I would also like it if they could break up with you if they disapprove with your decisions. I think that would just add another level to the romances. Make you actually work at it, and this would fall into my point above as well, instead of just relying on specific dialogue choices at certain points in the game.

I don't know if this has been said, but I'm not going to read 34 pages of this topic to find out.
In Dragon Age Inquisition, in the Trespasser DLC, the Inquisitor has a nervous breakdown, and, if romanced, Cullen will come over and give her a genuine hug.
I feel like it would be sweet if our LI recognized we are struggling and just gave us a hug. Everyone needs hugs.
This was something I really liked as well. I think it's lacking in those little emotional scenes from time to time, the lack of caring or response from the LI where it usually would make sense in real life. Sometimes they just stand like a statue in the background or besides her without a sound and that makes it so unrealistic and cold.

Well, one out of seven or so romances ain't bad in terms of delivering content in the DLC.
Because holy crap Cassandra was a disappointing mess in Trespasser.

I don't know how her romance is but I liked the way Cullens romance was made. Generally dragon age is good at romances imo, origins and inquisition especially, DA2 was awful at it but mass effect games have always been bad at it with very little content for some reason. I really hope that MEA will improve on this. I like bioware games because of the romances since not many other games are out there with that in it.

The romances need to be a DAI and Witcher hybrid. More realistic. The Witcher did the love scenes better than any of bioware's games. And romance needs to be improved. DAI was on the right track. Why not?

And yet when I mentioned Josephine, a DAI romance that focused and improved on the romance, you shot the idea down. Hence my confusion.
And no, the less like the Witcher the romances are the better. That kind of romance won't work with a protagonist whom is as changeable by the player as Bioware protagonists tend to be. Though if you actually mean sex which seems to be the case, then I have to say Sex =/= Romance.

In that case I think Bioware should not look at either DAI or the Witcher franchise for sex scenes. Instead they should look at ME3's Liara's sex scene. That was much better done than the sex scenes in DA or TW.

All right I like it!
I too would be on board with this, only as I understand the scenario we are intruders in a new galaxy, outpost settlers of a sort. Where would you take a romantic interest to explore these extra romantic scenarios? With ME1 and 2 there was understandable down time and entertainment. With Me3, on the verge of civilisation collapsing a quick bunk up may provide the distraction that was needed. Andromeda is only going to offer more of the latter for it to make sense? Having said that I know, from experience, during the first gulf war the British troops set up a base and securing it, the Americans, upon arrival set up an ice cream parlour first, and distracted the brits into helping them. So maybe the first landing vessel in Andromeda will be an authentic bijou restaurant that is hard to get into?

Well, there is that massive ship that we see in the N7 2015 trailer. That ship will most likely serve a Citadel-like role with us being on a smaller ship to do our stuff. So the main ship can have the places for the romantic moments, like how the Citadel had places for dates in ME3.

-Extra Dates/Romance quests. Something that lets you meet with the person and build a relationship over action as well as dialogue
-Squad Romances-Tali and Garrus happened because of shippers, but there wasn't much buildup and it happened no matter what (provided they were both single). I really liked that Dorian and Bull can get together and even have an exclusive ending, but only if you take them out together and force them to talk enough.
-Flirting that doesn't work. At first, you couldn't kiss everyone you could flirt with! It'd be nice to not know that having the ability to flirt means it can go somewhere (or at least let me get rejected)
-As the OP stated, point of no returns in ruining a romance. Maybe sometimes give them a chance to warn you though. Using the genophage examples let's say somehow you group finds out, and you take the Krogan LI with you to the mission. You are making the decision, and the Krogan has a talk with you. (If you didn't take the Krogan, you don't get his opinion!)

Well, depends on how you viewed them, I find their eventual relationship from the start to the end of the game was a natural progression to their relationship. Even in ME2, Tali was crazy about Fleet and Flotilla which is a romance between a Quarian and a Turian... like duh..
Meanwhile, I considered the ability to romance either Tali and Garrus in ME2 was pure fanservice and to please the shippers. Can't stop feeling Shepard being predatory...

How about some beach downtime with your team and possible LI.... shorts and bikinis and music and dancing and appropriate cut scenes of a stirred but not shaken martini? Or, you and your LI sitting in a patio at night with a clear sky and moon overhead?
Those in need for a quick fix should have the option of going directly to the futuristic Blooming Rose or the Pearl. Now, I'd really be interested in a Krogan or Salarian equivalent. However, we are playing as humans so that is out of the picture.

Bromance
Love interest leaving cute notes and hand created things that make me cry like a baby.
More in depth talk options with partner. I want to know everything about them. The little things matter.
Gay/lesbian friend that you're platonic friends with, but if the stars align, maybe they'll give you a shot
That's a start
