BioWare Romances are awful and have been awful.
Balderdash sir. They're cheesy good fun.

What i want to know is...can i spank npcs? I've heard that Frostbyte can destroy the enviroment but i haven't heard anything about the spanking. It would add a whole need dimension to the romance!
Can our character dress like a teacher?
Pfffffftttt.
I think that's not in contention. BioWare makes fairly standard romances but in video games for a wider audience than most people. What they offer isn't interesting so much as what they offer it in and to who.
I don't know if that's 100% true though... when I played SWTOR the character interactions and style of experience is markedly different from that of a Throne of Bhaal or Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect 3 felt like it could be a TV show on the Sci-Fi network, SWTOR felt like something you only find in a video game or just somewhere else entirely...
..but, I could just be making that up... I guess my thinking was maybe someone would jump up and explain how different Bioware is from a typical TV show or something but maybe that's because it's not really not true...
Either way what you are saying is making sense on some level to me ![]()
Can our character dress like a teacher?
Good question, my friend! after all, this is an ARPG, right? where's my roleplaying?
Harding and Leliana... *sigh*
Bioware writers need someone who read romance regularly.. is their writing job offers still up. I volunteer for sex scenes!
They seem to have specific romantic tropes like its in their manual... damsels, tsundere, nice guys, bad boys, tortured backstory etc. LI who love you so much that their world revolve around you, LI who love you but had to leave you because of reasons and come back with vengeance, LI who hate you but love you and hate you and love you.....etc
But they do have some genuine romance that I like; Kaidanmance reminds me of Ilona Andrews' Hidden Legacy series. Alistairmance reminds me of those historical romance novels I read as a teenager. Fenris *swoon* reminds me of some romances in anime involving a tortured bishonen. Even FemShep herself seems based on Babylon 5's Commander Ivanova (failed romance with men, sudden lesbian tendencies) and BSG's Kara Thrace (choose between your sexy commanding officer or safer Sam Anders who turns out to be not the person he is... oh and you die and resurrected for some reason). As for BroShep... ... ... probably Holden in The Expanse... sexy hot and for some reason all ladies want to bang him...
My dwarf is disappointed as well. You're doing me over with this post.
Especially coz Harding has flirt options. My Dwarf squizzy is so sad.
I think it's going to be a long-lasting tradition of denying dwarven PC's dwarven romances. The closest we'll get is what seems to be a budding relationship, then we get an invitation to that dwarf's wedding.
I just want the female romance options for the males to not be so ugly.
All the more reason I wanted Leliana to be romancable for the inquisitor. Not every Hero of Ferelden romanced her. Alas, my poor inquisitor doesn't get a single throwaway flirt with Leliana.I just want the female romance options for the males to not be so ugly.

Volus romance for ME:A then?
Oh... they should bring Meer back, his volus breathing made me skin tingling...

I do hope they would leave some of the tropes behind, the obvious straight guys and KISA characters always have to be straight, the lesbian romances are all fluffy and sweet, would have love to romance someone like Jack as a girl. I would also like to see Bioware goes out of their ways to give us more variety like more evil and selfish romances like Morrigan. This is why I like Cait so much in FO4, she's selfish and mean, and that's the way she is. You can't change her attitude, and that's a good thing.

Then they should manufacture less sexy dwarves with the voices of angels and eyes that see into your soul.
And those hips, mate!!!
Balderdash sir. They're cheesy good fun.
Maybe in a vacuum, but the BioWare romance community is absolutely toxic.
And those hips, mate!!!
And they say hips don't lie.
The look of satisfaction on her face as her bow strikes true into your enemies chests.
*sigh*

Sorry. Got lost there for a minute

Personally, I would have preferred romances that identify and react to unique character-specific combination of personal details and history. But its probably too much strain on writers and animators but it would have served the romance well and increase replay values.

But yeah, three DA and not one dwarven romance.. what is this conspiracy!!!

I thought you meant the romances in the game, not the weirdos on the internet.

Does she come in Asari blue by any chance?
I certainly hope so! I wouldn't mind a quarian tho!
