I can't help but say this, and it might have been said a million times, but I'm sorry...I don't normally post here...BUT IT MUST BE SAID...

Why does the Normandy's AI avatar look like a talking vagina?

I mean my god...it's talking to me...with a vagina shaped mouth.    And no one seems to say anything about it.  Oh Joker distrusts it.  And John Sheppard seems to be trying to figure it out...but no one seems to say, "COME ON, MAN, THERE IS A GIANT TALKING VAGINA ONBOARD OUR SHIP!"

...man.  

Sorry if this is inappropriate, but the game is mature, and I'm not using this is an inappropriate way.  It just looks like it.   And I can't take the darn AI seriously.

It's particularly unsettling when you ask it about Cerberus classified data and the "mouth" turns pink. Very strange design decision.

Yeah, maybe it's similar to Disney putting random naughty things in cartoons. Well whoever that rogue designer was. But regardless, Bioware couldn't have NOT had their mind in the gutter, I mean seriously...I'm not THAT perverted, lol. It's like a pulsing vagina that yeah...turns colors when its response is "blocked."



Oh well. I haven't gotten very far in the game yet. But man...someone at Bioware must have been doing a lot of smirking.

lol - I thought this as well. Add smirky comments by the AI about sending probes to Uranus and sounds like the devs were making alcohol induced late night game decisions.

Didn't hear the Uranus probe bit yet. Haha, man. Well I guess EDI will live on with notoriety in computer games. Maybe the developers made it look like a vagina because of all the flack they got for "sex" in the first Mass Effect. They're just kind of like, "Hah! We'll sneak this in here and show them all what sex is!"

That doesn't look anything like Kitt, Father G. Kitt in the video you submitted is primarily three vertical lines. I can see how you can say that at first, but if you look at the design -around- those lines you can see the full shape of the AI. Observe.

Both EDI and KITT both use a visualizer for the voice. This is the same as what winamp, windows media player, whatever use to display the spectragraphic information of the audio. Each bar, which is usually horizontal, and in this case vertical, is for a different range of the audio frequency spectrum. The reason KITT only has 3 vertical lines versus EDIs multiple lines is purely a limitation of the technology at the time. The outer bars when EDI 'speaks' is to show the audio peaks in that particular frequency band.


So I say again; get your mind out of the gutter.

And the shape surrounding those bars, Father G, which forms a pair of "lips" that also are synced with the dialogue is something that Kitt does not have. Look at the dashes around the thicker bars. If you don't see it, that's fine. But as from other response, it's clearly not just me.

Normally I would agree, but this... you're calling a visual representation of the frequencies EDI speaks through a god-damn vagina. That's just disturbing. It would be like calling 'A Soul Brough to Heaven' by Bouguereau a graphic representation of mans desire for playboy to be delivered by fedex in 2 days or less.
