The coup attempt was a kick to the face for Cerberus. But the sky car ride with Kai Leng on the roof was a sign of things to come (Thessia). My train of thoughts during it was like this:

"Hit the brakes and watch him go! ...no?"

"Fly tight under one of those bridges and listen for a wet 'thump'. Jeez, what's so hard?"

"Shoot a few holes into the roof? He's cutting it up anyway. Please?"

But naaah, Shepard had to keep the sky car flying nice and straight and at a regular speed so the galaxy's best assassin won't slip. It was remembering that scene that immediately told me what was going to happen on Thessia as soon as Kai Leng showed up. Ugh.

Yeah, I don't want cutscene induced stupidity. I also don't want Bioware to reintroduce those one shot kills in cutscenes.

Well, Bioware resurrected HK-55 recently after the character sacrificed his life.... so..... -_-

I thought it was rather obvious they intended to leave the door open for his return considering the text used the word seemingly but that may be my genre savy.

I wouldn't be as annoyed by this if I hadn't already had my HK-51 and they already given Niko Okarr last year and I already have a collection of Star Fortress companions and other class companions that I rarely use because I need to fraking level their influence first and I got no time for that and I rather half of them die than to get another useless comp.

Its cheap and I won't resub for tomorrow just to get him. Rest in peace.

I agree, the coup is pretty much a win for Shepard. The victory might be bittersweet, but Shepard still foils Cerberus' plans there.

No he/she didn't. Kai Leng was what caused the mission to fail. He's labeled as an assassin, then make him an assassin. As soon as he lands behind the councilor, he kills her and runs to the skycar before Shepard jumps out the window. Kai Leng encounters Ashley/Kaidan, kills them very easily and does whatever with the councilors.

This is what we got

Kai Leng stands in front of the councilor hesitating to kill her.

Thane shows up with a pistol at Lengs head. Shoot the guy Thane..

Thane and Leng fight. Leng is thrown to the ground

Why isn't Shepard and squadmates not firing at the guy?

Thane decides it would be better to play chicken instead a shooting at the guy from where he was standing?

Sword. Say hello to  Thane. Thane. Say hello to the sword

Leng runs away

The best part is when Commander Shepard asks "how bad is it?" At that moment, Thane could've redeemed himself by shooting Shepard in the gut and say "you tell me"

With Kirrahe, the guy is in cloak mode. Shoot the guy

Instead he gets shot and dies. Had he shot  Leng while in cloak mode, he might of lived.

How hard is it to turn the sky car sharply causing Leng to fall off the skycar? I guess that sounds too easy. Or why didn't Shepard shoot Leng after he stabbed the car and dropped his bubble?

How about throwing a grenade in the elevator? If you don't have one, have one of the squadmates throw one if possible

When facing Ashley/Kaidan, why aren't the squadmates speaking up on Shepards behalf when Udina says Shepard is working with Cerberus? Ashley/Kaidan should also realize that they don't have a chance. They might injure one of them, but would be shot very quickly. Both should also realize, if Shepard is working with Cerberus, they wouldn't be talking at all. Remember Mars? Cerberus didn't waste time talking, they just shot at everything that moved.

Interesting. I couldn't get past the fact that Malak was taking tons of damage while my PC wasn't. You felt that the damage Malak was taking.... wasn't real?

I don't see how this makes Kai Leng an inferior foe anyway. He's outnumbered 3-1 in that fight -- even if he's Shepard's equal he'd have to have help to win.

Nah. I think a battle is more than just draining a health bar (at least in games like Kotor and ME that use a lot of cinematics). I could be doing either 1 or 100 HP damage to him, so to speak, and it still wouldn't matter if I can't see any effect on Malak. He's not clutching his side in pain or, like in Kai Leng's case, screaming that he has to recharge.

Kai Leng resorting to cheating in order to win still makes him pretty inferior to me. My squad members were hardly contributing in the fight itself, not to mention the cutscenes made them seem downright incompetent.
