DAO has the Archdemon wait around until the warden actually gathers his/her army.
So... we have a teleport system or what?

Incorrect.
Archdemons don't usually show up on the battlefield especially if their army is not at full strength.
This one of beauty was awakened by a magister of the old empire long before any darkspawn had a chance to reach him,so it is not far fetched to say that Urthemiel needed time to collect more darkspawns because he was not found by the main horde and he didn't had many at his disposal.

I don't mind accepting abstraction in the passage of time, but I do think DAI is much too casual about travel. The most blatant example for me being when the Inquisitor just casually pops down to Val Royeaux to have lunch with Cole
Don't forget the time passage when you take Griffon Wing Keep.
Take the keep... run the flag up the pole... next thing you know there's folks there and Knight-Captain Rylen is telling you that they have barely been set up a week... and you haven't moved.

As a player who has often too little time for games and too many games to play I've always blessed fast travel.
It's one of the few cases where I prefer convenience over realism.
