I would like fewer romance options with deeper story relevance.

I feel plenty appreciated by the BoS, maybe it's because I like them a lot but the SoSu was absolutely not next in line when it came to promotion to Paladin based on rank alone. I did a lot for them and that's why they made me Paladin. Even after refusing one of Maxson's direct orders. And what else is a Soldier but a useful tool to the one in command? Like seriously? ...

Considering there are many knights and they promote a random stranger they met a few days ago and potentially disobey a direct order to kill Danse, it tells you how much it means to be promoted. There are other knights that can be promoted. It's much better than the RR telling you to die for a synth, I'm not feeling like a tool at all in that instance.

Well that's tells me we're not gonna agree on this at all. A friend, a comrade, a confident. You can be plenty more than just a useful tool to someone in command. Sorry but some loon ordering me to risk my life killing synths innocent or otherwise because of the "dangers of technology" are not a compelling reason sorry.

No, that's your assumption about how it goes. I don't see it as the SS seeing it as new, more like the reason why they're bringing it up. Funny how perception goes. Beth could have easily forgotten about it like how they never give Glory a synth component. Yes, and if you decide to bring him to you, it would still create logic gap why the BoS doesn't know. They know if you use the RR to build the relay and about PAM and always know where the RR is located in both BoS and RR route, so they have intel on the RR.

And yet they don't act on it. Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't they take the PC's blood? *shrug*

Also you can bring X6 on board the Prydwen and no one says anything (even if the second you dismiss him he opens fire upon every BOS member he sees). You can bring Hancock and Nick on board without issue. Sole gets away with plenty that other knights wouldn't.

And considering taking X6 to the RR turns them perma hostile no it's not something that can't be done.

Deacon flat out tell you Desdemona is a hardliner and as soon as you prove you can handle yourself...shock and surprise you get let in. You get in the RR one of two ways. Ability or Ideology. You fail the latter test so you get in via ability.

It's the same way you can't be allowed into the BOS via Danse's quest and subsequent sponsorship of you. They too expect you to follow their ideology.

They did take PC's blood. We're just gonna go in a circle if you're gonna bring it up.

That's how the game is coded, factions are hostile to each other, once you dismiss X6, he considers an NPC, and the game codes so that faction NPCs will always be hostile to each other.

Well, there's still this thing called Fraternization, I'll always be a comrade and a brother/sister to my fellow brothers and sisters, a confident at times but once you reach a certain rank it just has to stop and become a more professional relationship. I wonder if romancing Danse would have worked if he'd stayed in the BoS, the nail that drives the romance home is after Blind Betrayal when he's no longer a Paladin. In ME both Joker and Vega don't romance you because of it (I deleted the Vega rape from my mind, it never happened as far as I'm concerned.)

And I really wish that Bethesda would have been more consistent with who can and can not come aboard the Prydwen. They dropped the ball on that one and I'm disappointed because of it. That's why I role play it the way I do because I do not want to be able to get away with bringing them on board

Edit for on topic. Fewer romances means less plot holes in romances which can and should equal to a deeper story which I'd prefer.

You show me where they took the PC blood then :)

...that is not my point. My point is just taking X6 to the RR makes them hostile. You don't have to dismiss him. Just bringing him into their presence makes them hostile. If the BOS was consistent with how they treat Sole and their other soldiers the same would occur when you bring Curie/Hancock/Nick. Yet it doesn't proving that yes they do make exceptions and bend the rules for Sole.

You don't proof that they haven't, seeing as they miss a lot of details in the game like not giving out synth components or make certain assumptions. :)

Gameplay mechanic.X6 is a courser is moreso like an exception for the RR than anything.

I'm not saying you should be able to romance Maxson (by god I wouldn't even want to. Ew. Loon and that beard is just so disgusting) but Dez and Preston (without romancing him) both for me at least show a giving a damn about my PC as a person beyond a bludgeoning tool. You don't need romance to have a friendly relationship. Eh he probably wouldn't. Danse is very regulations ho! Kind of guy.

Do not get me started on Joker. Don't.

Yep them being more blunt with the BOS fanaticism would've been nice yes. (I honestly can't make a Sole that sides with the BOS because at the end of the day no matter how you play a synth is the only reason you find Father. Just seems the height of hypocrisy and stupidity to side with the BOS after that.)

Yep and you don't have proof that they did <3 round and round we go.

It's not really a gameplay mechanic given there's dialogue for said companions reacting to something Maxson said. They know they're there. The game just decides the BOS is cool with that.

X6 at least makes sense.

Yes, and you're just repeating my point. :)

Yes, X6 can be justified with the BoS not knowing what the Courser may look like, and you can change his outfit. RR and X6 are more direct rival in term of storyline.

X6 can be justified. Nick and Hancock can't however.

Also RR knowing what X6 looks like if you change his clothes makes no sense either. Synth are indistinguishable from humans remember?

The MM, tbh, are not a proper military operation, they are a somewhat armed militia. I never felt that the rank of General was anything but ceremonial. The BoS would have been fine without the SoSu, the MM not so much.

Do I feel like a hypocrite for still siding with the BoS after romancing Danse and bringing kiddo Shaun home with me? Only a little.

Maxson cares enough about the PC AND Danse to not shoot us both on the spot after disobeying him. He totally could have. That's good enough for me (I'd have totally tried to romance Maxson, he's fine)

Id like no romance to be frank unless it was needed for the story like you had to find a mate  for procreation.

They have never been actively trying to kill normal ghouls. They despite them but has never gone out of their way to exterminate all ghouls. Nick is a little bit harder to justify but then he's openly out, but it's more gameplay if there are a bunch of characters you can't take anywhere based on who they are.

Never said the MM were a proper military operation (thankfully) they're just a group of loosely baned civilians trying to carve up something safe. That has it's positives and negatives.

Also the BOS aren't fine without the SS actually not in my games :D

See the BOS and their anti-synth abominations should've killed kid Shaun. That would've been fitting.

Maxson isn't an idiot. Losing not just one good soldier but two would've been a great blow. (Also he could've yeah. He also would've died for it and I'd taken that sweet sweet coat.) Also ewww he looks far too old for his age and that beard. And his voice man...no bueno.

They used your son's DNA as a base, they don't have your blood. Even then, human's DNA is very similar to each other.

That doesn't mean they'd let them on their ship. Nick is ridiculous to justify. He has dialogue with banter with the BOS paladins and reacting to Maxson. I'd buy the gameplay excuse if he was mute as he's not...you already can get hostility from bringing Danse along it's not much of a stretch to apply that to other companions.

Like really I view joining the BOS the same way I view someone joining the Legion. Just. LOL. They have nothing you can't get somewhere else without less vile morons in charge.
