I bought all the Mass Effect games because I love the idea of exploring new worlds. Not into the strategy so much: just want to get through the game on "easy." But I've reached a road block and can't get out of the Ruins of Therum in ME1. And it appears I've been playing the whole game up to now with just my revolver!!! I know how to select weapons, but whenever I think I have and get back to game play I still have a revolver. Grenades? Forget it. Never had one. But this isn't really my question.

 

I need a Mass Effect For Dummies Walk Thru so I can go through the motions of this game, enjoy the fantastic scenery and not get frustrated.

 

Can some recommend a website for me?

I only know the PC version, if you have that:

I suspect you are equipping a different weapon in your inventory screen.
You change weapons by holding down the spacebar while in combat & selecting your weapon there.
As for grenades, everyone starts the game with them. Aim the cursor & press R to throw the grenade there & R again to detonate it.
This should have been explained back on Eden Prime if you had Tutorials enable in the Options ( I would imagine they are by default)

At any time you can press O then Secondary then Player Tutorials to review how something works.

olnorton already posted a link to the ME wiki, but here is also one directly tied to the story progression. You can select each story mission in this section to see what you need to do there and also helpful information like which talents and squad mates are good for the missions.

Sounds like you need to figure the inventory out I had a similar problem up until feros.

Links above should cover it here's one for equipping upgrades. With handy pic of what you're trying to do. The game is old enough that there's tons of Step by step stuff so don't be afraid to google even google images should be a help.

And if you're stuck with the bit after you meet liara and get her out remember throw is your friend put him down and keep him down if you can. Also keep your distance.
