It will be boring for you being carried for the months required to become strong.

It is boring to be the person carrying as you tend to have to drop down a difficulty.

Most and probably only fun I've had in this game is in a balanced team of people all prepped for the same level of difficulty.

My advice is have fun and play at the level your gear suggests.

Otherwise you will risk getting really bored and by the time you are strong you will either be burned out or just plain sick of the repetition.

Enjoy the game. The stats will come when they come.

Seems like this would work but on Perilous and even Threatening, a lot of the mobs sometimes go after you (no matter where you hide) and you end up getting downed anyways.

Then dont hide, stick with the team. Keeping up barrier on seabass, dont mean you have to stand in a corner. Many people on ranged dps classes Will stick around if you speed ring before barrier.

Why does everyone think of saarebas all the time when it comes to support?

Keeper is great ever since the beginning of DAMP, Elementalist is unparallelled in CC with firestorm spam, bard is great at barrier and buffs too. As an AW you can at least contribute some combo xp.

Outside of mages, Legionnaire is an awesome taunt machine with unkillable defences. Templar can be very tough in NM with a horn of valor and body guard build.

As of rogues, alchemist can give elemental mine spam, SS is tough to kill with panic to contribute for CC, you can't go wrong with archer as long as you don't long shot. Just fall back every time you lose health. As assassin, at least you can pick out archers and mages if you are the patient type.

Probably because zone wide continuous barrier is just freaking amazing and trump every other supports. :P   My first 6 or so mage promotions were keepers (playing in routine) to get my experienced mage chest.   I was trying to time my barrier, position myself close to the weaker members of the group, etc...  After I unlocked Saarebus I felt really cheated because it was so easy to kept the group alive.   My group in routine cannot die with my Saarebus' barrier and she will get the most kills at the same time.

And then there is the glyph.  It is crazy good for a permanent buff.   It is hard to tell until I playback on the video.   It is like 25% increase in damage on the fire glyph and everything hits you take a huge damage in return.  I have seen saarebus that only does barrier has more kills than other members in the match because things were hitting her and died.   And lightning glyph is like have permanent elusive that refreshes and also make you move really fast.  I don't know how much defense does the ice one give but I know that when it on, the NM RT commander whirlwind does no damage to my Templar.   If I don't have it on, I will have to shield wall the attack.

Here's how to tell if a class is broken:

(1) Requires minimal or no amount of experience to contribute to a team/group success. If your team is paramount on the need for a saarebot/buffs to survive on higher difficulties than this class is a no brainer, and if your team fails than its most likely you did not have her in your group composition. Basically, she has turned into the support crutch for new players and older players alike.

At least in the past, keeper and virtuouso players had to learn how to manage their cool downs and mana. Speaking of which, I can't remember when I saw a Neria in nightmare.

(2) Have some of the most powerful defensive abilities with unlimited range that can be mindlessly spammed/abused with very little cooldown/ coordination or forethought.

Basically, a saarebas with heart of pride staff and no experience/skills can keep the team alive by running Ring of Assandara and Sar tar shield. Over and over again. Glyphs are just the icing on the cake for an already overpowered class that has rendered other support classes obsolete.

I have seen Keeper in NM in 2 situations:

1) There is a Saarebus in the group taking care of barrier so Keeper with pact belt is now the new and improve AW with Static Cage on top of CL and Dispel... Awesome!

2) Learnedhand mowing down everything with his/her keeper. :P

Then you meet a qunari stealther that dispel barrier and it becomes Teatime.

Or a room full of pride demons and electric immune wraiths.

DPS STORM PACT YOLO Neria:

"Help me with this one!!!!"

2 seconds later: "I crossed the veil"

Finally: "I...I...I can still fight..."

Actually, I believe Learnedhand is capable without the Buffybot. I am one of those that usually plays with the Saar-barrier-bot, and me as Keeper. With or without the botting, Static Cage and teammates taking advantage, is generally the key. Even when surrounded by dispelling stealthers (as Kmeeg points out), throwing down a Cage, and having say an Alchemist ready to toss their mines, while I Frost Step it out of there, will often take care of nasty stealthers. Doesn't mean you can't get caught with your pants down, and admittedly it works best with a cohesive team, that talks to one another/formulates plans. But it can be done (and we have done so without a barrier-bot, though we use a sarrebot more often than not for NM/HB...and ALWAYS on HB.)

You forgot to mention how glyphs stay permanent on players even if a saarebroken player disconnects from the match. Truly op.

Learnedhand doesn't need barrier. :P  I think I remember seeing 5 bars of hp with pact belt on... that means 300+ con?

300+ con still gets you dropped without barrier on nm, this isn't an AW who can generate their own barrier with no cooldowns. Even with winter stillness, etc, there is still a bit of cool down in which barrier for keeper can be hit. Pact belts cut your hp and defenses pretty drastically more than 65% it seems. We aren't even talking about the spirit/elemental resistance factions have. Last time I saw a keeper in nm trying to be hipster with a dps build, they faded horribly on zone 2 against the qunari stalkers. If dps keeper was so good, there would of been a few solo nightmare/nm vids by now.

That's in a team setting though. Results would be a little different in a carry or solo situation.
