Picture it. You are your ME:A character, looking out of your sleek, subtly beweaponed space craft at the beginning of your new adventure. Pieces of some vanquished foe's ship spin silently across the vista of the screeching void. In the distance you see the glint of the friendly ship you are expecting... or is it? It is time to relax... or is it?

As your adventure begins, a theme begins to play in the background, you listen to it and know what will happen next.

What is that theme?

For me, it's the Tron: Legacy soundtrack - this says everything about the "new dawn in the ME universe" context perfectly - if I were developing such a game I'd probably have the whole thing on a loop.

I'd definitely be listening to this, to get the blood pumping (made very own). Think of it as a musical Mass Effect retrospective, perfect for keeping things in perspective. Legion beatboxing and the Reaper horns would freak my entire crew out, so it's a plus for the lulz.

For me it would be the Prometheus soundtrack, I hope we discover by chance something horrifying about the origins of Mankind at one of the new planets (though I think the first Alien film did this better, even if we didn't know then that the Space Jockey was an Engineer).

Because I have zero imagination, my characters would probably all listen to the same kind of music I do, so I'll go with Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians." Also, it has a timeless quality to it and is a pretty important piece of music, so it's likely to be known about hundreds of years from now:
