One of the first albums I ever had.  B)

When I was given my own CD player by my father (this was the age of ipods, but.... Well, ruralness), he also gave me "The Planets". Listening to Mars STILL gives me warm fuzzies.

Jethro Tull introduced me to regular music much later, which probably explains why I'm a terrible person.

ANYWAY. For the paragades out there!

Just so I can pretend I don't musically live in folk-rock hell. I do,

And Aqualung was one of the first riffs I learned. :P But I never could get into a lot of their stuff.

Well, that sounds like an excuse to post Tull.

For the paragons! And for that one Viking dude who sometimes posts, I guess.

Straight back to living in folkrock hell. It could be the title of my autobiography.

I know this is a trend but Johnny Cash is on my list.

As well as

Hurt (his cover version)

The Man Comes Around

Ghost Riders In The Sky

Wayfaring Stranger

Hung My head

These songs kinda fit the theme I imagine I'll be having while entering the Andromeda Galaxy; lost, afraid, disconnected from my home and exploring the danger.

Other songs that I feel fit my character will be

Nights In White Satin - The Moody Blues (Yes that's how the songs spelled)

Sound of Silence - Simon And Garfunkel

The Logical Song - Supertramp

The Real Thing - Russell Morris (the more hopeful part of my song list here)

I don't imagine my character as a depressing gothic type of guy but as someone who's nervous of the world (metaphorical) that he's entering a bit guarded and worried about the rest of humanity. Hopeful but a cynic.

That's more how I envision my guy but the last song I'm going to include is a song that encompasses his more hopeful attitude towards colonization while still somewhat cynical.

If you haven't judged by this long post, I've thought a bit about this.

Thinking about music and fitting songs to things is what interesting people do!

Or at least that's my self-aggrandizing theory.

At any rate, it's hard to go wrong with Cash.

I couldn't find the version I liked the best so I'll just place this one which is also pretty good. It's from the show Peaky Blinders, I LOVE that show, it has amazing soundtrack.

Another one from the Peaky Blinders show and again the original wasn't available in my country for some odd reason. So this is the second best version :)

Glenn Danzig wrote that for him..

Which reminds me. Can we fit this in somehow? Space Bar scene maybe? j/k

If I actually got to play the kind of Ryder I would want to- which is unlikely, since I've never been able to play a BW character like this, really- she'd probably listen to the soundtrack from Hello Dolly starring Barbra Streisand, because she's in a situation that could very likely be horrible and seem hopeless, and its hard to listen to that music and be sad or upset. She'd want to at least have SOMETHING to make her feel like death wasn't around every corner for a little while.
