Yes,Now you see Cauthrien is following Loghain's orders to the "T" and dotting the "I"s in the process. Later Cauthrien tries to stop the wardens from entering the Landsmeet but, with some fancy talking she will stand down after she sees what Loghain has become and says something about disobeying orders..

I will say Loghain is smart even in his deranged state... He does a Hitler like rant then after losing the Landsmeet and after losing the duel he sounds pitiful-maybe he should have added big sobby tears for effect...  Then if you talk to him at camp he's tough and arrogant  again.

This game has these parts where they shove these "moral" decisions, and giving only extreme choices.

So why there is no option to put Loghain in a cage instead to kill him?

In a cage? Is he an animal?

He should be trialled and, if condemned, taken to prison.

What would stop Anora from sending her lady in waiting to tell her father the warden is on the way to kill Howe?  She does want to keep her throne at this point.

Cauthrien strikes me as one that would follow Loghain's orders blindly even though she asked about leaving the King in Ostagar when Loghain gave the order to withdrawal.

Yes,he could have sent a spy to follow the group instead of sending Cauthrien and those elite knights to save Howe.. Maybe Howe knew to much and had to be silence just like the wardens?  Look how fast he blames the warden for mind controlling his daughter.

There's to many unanswered questions in that story line.

Because Anora didn't want Ser Cauthrien to find her. So she wouldn't want her showing up to possibly discover her there. Besides, Anora needed the Warden to help her get the throne.

The idea that the Warden kidnapped her and mind-controlled her is just what Anora speculates Loghain will say. He never actually says it.

Ah but,Loghain does imply Anora is under mind control by the wardens. Loghain uses his daughter like a pawn to shift  questions away from him back to the warden. Dear daughter Anora turns on her dear old daddy with things I sure he didn't want known in the Landsmeet.

The nobles of Orlais would be proud the way those two play the game.

Looking at the darker side..

If you lose the Landsmeet he orders the execution of the PC, Alistair and Eamon. Two things come to mind.

First Riordan says nothing even though he knows why wardens are needed. He could have spoken out before the fight.

Second. If the executions was carried out instead of the battle that erupts  Loghain dooms Ferelden since I feel without a doubt Riordan would have been returned to his cell or been executed.

It's idiotic that there's no choice to put Loghain in prison. That would've satisfied Alistair and Anora instead of only one of them.

Neverwinter, It would be hard for a CE to be forgiving for what Loghain did to his/her family and friends.

At this point in my CE games its not about what Alistair or Anora wants. Arl Eamon didn't forgive Jowan for what he did so,what Loghain did to the CEs is far worst.. Maybe playing as a hume  its easier to forgive after all what's a few knife ears?  Still there's those assassins and bounty hunters Loghain had dogging your back trail.

I use Elves and Brand Dwarves so,old Loghain  up sheet creek without a paddle. The Brands knows first hand what its like being abused so, a nod in favor of the City Elves is rendered in my Dwarf games..

From the Landsmeet on this game plot seem a little bit forced.
