Can someone please link me something I could use to help pugs get more safley through Perilious and possibly learn something about the class in the process. (I think the builds linked in the pin are offense builds right?)
I have some nice staffs, which could I make the best use of?
Passive to prevent knockdown and passive for reduced damage while casting.
Glyph everyone at the outset, then run: ring, ring, barrier right up the center of the board. If they are glyphed and run in and out of the rings they get all of the perks and will accidentally be protecting you anyway. Use curse on bosses, big baddies and room guardians (don't upgrade curse)
Ring ring barrier is probably best for support but I found that no one really wants support in perilous. Most of the time you will be in the ring by yourself with everyone running off in different directions. And if you do it in the middle of the FC zone 4 you will probably get killed quick. People who will hang around your ring and take the benefits are the experienced people who don't really need the ring anyway.
The easiest way is to have the upgrade auto targeted bacon and just do bacon, bacon, barrier. You can hide in a corner or behind a wall and do it and occasionally leap into action and leap away. I would save the ring ring barrier for NM or HB where the group actually stay mostly together.

True, I guess part of it depends on the level of the sbus and how shiny and new the players are who are headed into perilous. I use mine barrier/DPS perilous/nightmare then go support for nightmare/HB. If the people you are trying to keep alive can't do enough dps then the barrage would make more sense, though I like the increased casting speed from the lightning ring (totally selfish I know)
heart of pride as long as u cast final barrier u can throw anything else in, itwa adim or athlok dmg starter gaatlok flow or use rings and glyph anything works with final barrrier
Personally I would go for a hybrid dps/support build that retains barrier for NM and below. But if you are playing HB with friends who are playing dps then it might be a good idea to go for full support.
For full on support build, I go with:
Leap
Glyphs
Ring
Barrier
All upgraded. Buff everyone with glyphs to start with then forget about it.
Leap towards your ranged dps, drop electric ring, barrier. Rinse repeat for the whole match.
If something aggroed on you, use your open leap to re-position but never stop the barrier. Just count on your team mates to kill these mobs.
From my experience, 3 well supported dps will do better than 3 dps with a hybrid support who can't really pump out enough damage to make a dent.
Without a doubt, use Heart of Pride if you have it. Until you have pretty high critical chance, Heart of Pride is the best staff in the game.
Here's a video of 4 unpromoted players in NM. Saarabas OP. I know for a fact Snackbot, Rye Whiskey and myself have a combined 1 promotion. Badlawma, I'm not sure. But he finished last on the scoreboard so I doubt he has very many.
Level 2: Psychic Backlash
Level 3: Guardian Spirit
Level 4: Static Charge
Level 5: Saar-Taar Shield
Level 6: From Knowledge, Strength
Level 7: Ring of Asaaranda
Level 8: Ring of the Kadan
Level 9: Return to Dust
Level 10: Elemental Fury
Level 11: In Knowledge, Power
Level 12: Hand of Issqun
Level 13: In Ignorance, Weakness
Up until this point: Assara's Leap, Baqoun Barrage, Saar-Taar Shield and Ring of Asaaranda are your abilities.
Level 14: Glyphs of Aqun
Level 15: Glyphs of Issqun
Now: Assara's Leap, Glyphs of Aqun, Saar-Taar Shield and Ring of Asaaranda
Level 16: With Strength, Endurance
Level 17: Shield of Peace (Great for knocking down groups, especially pesky Qunari Assassins that are trying to strip barrier)
Level 18: Leap of Freedom
Level 19: Whatever
If you want you can grab Curse of Shokasit and use it instead of Assara's Leap or Glyphs of Aqun to quickly kill the dragon. Also, this isn't a set in stone leveling order. If you want Shield of Peace earlier ect...do what you gotta do.

This advice is spot on. I would only add a consideration that when playing a Saarebus at a level where you cannot easily kill targets before they kill you, do not attack anything without barrier up. Keep an eye on your teammates and if any your teammates have lost their barrier, get it back up.
It’s frustrating for everyone to see a level 20 “support” Saarebus with extremely high willpower (300+) but with low constitution and cunning think they can attack when they just die immediately as soon as they stop barrier. If this happens, I’d also recommend not complaining about dying all the time. Everyone is getting hit, it’s just that having high willpower alone is not going to prevent a quick death and visit to fade when playing at higher levels.
Everyone loves a good support Sarrebus. A support Sarrebus who thinks they can attack when they are clearly playing at a level where that’s improbable is just going to make the enemy stronger and harder to defeat.

Lol I'm pretty sure someone with 300 willpower would probably never consider playing support. Unless that's one of your friends you are talking about

Hmmm, I think I know whom V-III is talking about. But I didn't know that his 300 promotions were mostly in Willpower. I was wondering how come his support Saarebus would die in perilous with 300 promotions. I thought he meant he has 300/300/300... but I guess that would have been 870 promotions.

Lol I guess he had a life long commitment towards support mage then

Yes, indeed. I can understand that some only like to play mages (I've meet several). All of them very nice people. However, with almost no or very little constitution or cunning, a #1 principle of a support "barrier" Sarrebus should be: Do not attack without barrier if you cannot take some hits. I mean this in the most kind way as I can state it as it's for your own as well as your teammates benefit.
DO NOT USE CURSE OF SHOKASIT AS SUPPORT SAAREBAS. This compromises your role for a gimmick ability.
Correct information: Heart of Pride, Saar-Taar Shield, Ring of Asaaranda, Glyphs of Aqun. Proto's post is excellent, although I have some minor quibbles with the build order, but they're not worth debating.
Ability 4, if we are talking pure support build, should be either Asaara's Leap (vide Proto), used in Opening Stance to move your Flow (aka Speed) Ring of Asaaranda under your allies feet
or (once you have the points to get it)
Athlok Burst used in both Flow and Finishing stance(s) for CC and setting up your allies for Shatter opportunities. Notice I emphasize allies - this does not require you to upgrade Athlok Burst, although you may do so, but then you're no longer in pure support territory. Freezing all the (susceptible) enemies within 8 meters is a very powerful support move.
Your sequence of casting (once you have applied Glyphs to all your allies) should be: Ring, Ring, Shield (if near allies); Leap, Ring, Shield (if not near allies while you still have Leap; use Leap [Frost Step] to move to allies so that Ring is cast under them; if a single Leap doesn't get you there, repeat this sequence to keep Barrier active for the team in the meantime); Shield, Ring, Burst (if surrounded by enemies and all allies have sufficient Barrier to survive a sequence without team Barrier); Shield, Burst, Burst (if surrounded by enemies and you (and ideally your allies) already have max no. of stacks in Flow (aka Speed) Ring [ie 3 stacks]).
Leap -> Ring -> Barrier has made things so much nicer since I pretty much have less then 10 people on my friend list that plays, so I always have to go PUG. Pretty much Ill do some willpower promotions for a while, and try to find some people who are willing to take me with them up a step up to NM. If anyone wan't to take me under their protective wings on PS4, then add: PnS-Zogin
Can someone explain to me how the updated Glyph works. Is it a permanent buff that never ends? I just go to the state that I prefer, and then never cast it again? /feeling-a-bit-vurnable-due-to-potentially-stupid-question

Open glyhs gives ice buff, flow gives electric and finish gives fire. Cast a new glyph will over write the effect of the previous one.
The buff lasts until the end of match or possible end when the person died (sometings do, sometings don't. don't ask why, just accept its working as intended just like many other things).
Cast it at the start of match and then just forget about it.

In my experience the glyph always deactivates when the person goes down. You give it to the player closest to you, so they can just take turns standing next to you when you cast the glyph they want. If no players are close to you (not sure how far away you need to be), casting the glyph will only update your own, which is useful when no one else wants the same glyph as you.
