The dark fantasy elements of Origins is one of the things that got me hooked on the game in first place. It could of passed as a full on horror game at some points. Some of the enemies certainly looked as if they were cut straight out of a horror movie (e.g. Brood Mother, werewolves). It's pretty much non-existent in franchise now, which is sad. Please bring it back Bioware!
There is a discussion similar to this one here if anyone is interested: http://forum.bioware...k-to-this-tone/

Wait what? How were the werewolves even remotely close to horror? They were just mooks that couldn't choke on their own blood fast enough; about as dangerous as an actual wolf (or mabari).

The scariest thing about DAO was the dead-eyed stare of the Warden in cutscenes.

Leliana called them "severe"...and that she does all the talking. I think she's right. ![]()

Why/how do you think Trespasser is dark? I didn't find that, myself, but of course it is all about perspective. Just curious
By the end of Trespasser you have lost. Lost your arm, lost the Inquisition, failed the mission to keep the sky from falling. The sky is still falling and you have been neutralized as a effective force to stop it. The world is every bit as doomed as it was when you started. It's going to be up to some other guy to save the world because the only thing you could do was delay doom for a couple of years while being used as a stooge the whole time. If that's not dark, I don't know what is.

I find it interesting so many people took the Inquisition disbanding as actually important. The game seemed to beat you over the head that the people who "matter" (i.e. the Companions, You, and the Bosses with their private networks) will continue to follow you no matter what. I mean, it's not like the Inquisition's ARMY ever did jack squat against the hundreds of threats they faced. That's gone but your own private A-team and Leliana's spy network/Cullen's knights/Josephine's diplomacy core is at your command.
You've gone from being the CIA to Commander Shepard.
