Over at the Me3Coop subReddit they have a collection of builds...the BbLoB...one of their regulars doesn't like BC/Vanguards and posted this stasis-sniper build...make what you will of it. (Personally, I'll pass)

Checked out the build and it doesn't seem bad. Asuming that there are many vanguards available, having 1 one of them a bit different is not bad.

 

The OmniButton... one button to rule them all. Sprint, use, dodge, revive, going into cover... all one button. The almighty Spacebar:

 

 

On PC you can mod the keybindings and assign different buttons for those actions.

 

I'm on PS3 that's why I didn't get it. But it's good to know that more people face this same condition

Why is he sterile? I mean, how do you know that?

 

Because the game says that teleporting through walls leave the combatant sterile.

You can go stasisless with the Asari Vanguard and concentrate on total bombardment. One of her evos make her power damage stronger after a charge.

Her lift grenades don't even lift bro, they just straight up kill all mooks.

^ They are actually more OP mook killer then cluster balls. Lift Nades detonate where it's supposed to detonate. Cluster balls bounce away to stagger you teammates instead.

I've been testing Gold Solo naked and I've improved quite a lot.

My results so far:

 

- Made it as far as W7, using consumables. Now I play without using gels. If I drop, I die and start again;

- Being mobile helps greatly, however you still get ambushed at times;

- Full melee build with the Kroguard is quite powerful: BC + HM = dead rocket or hunter. For Pyros, add another light melee or 2;

- I still can't take 2 Primes together being naked. I use missiles;

- Not being able to roll is still an issue when I want to retreat from a crowd, I need to turn my back to them, and then I can get staggered. If I walk backwards, I don't see the path and I'm slow;

- Disciple gives me 200% cd, which helps a lot;

- In some cases, headshoting a Prime with it staggers them.

 

That's what I remember for now.

Play long enough and you will be able to walk through the whole map backwards. It's a great skill to learn and really benefits the bigger, tankier characters.

Good advice. In fact, during pizza I already partially do that. Walking backwards is faster so many times I do it. But I still can't do it a whole map

Playing with clothes later is not going to make it easier.

These two factors are related to this:

Melee is ok v low tier units and poor against high hp, high damage enemies.  Disciple has poor dps.

 

You are probably only seeing Primes get staggered when you break their shields.

You are correct, Primes get staggered without shields. I intend to use the Reegar once it's more updated or once I go in with full equipments. A Cyclonic Mod might compensate the lower cd the Reegar will give me.

You don't have to go Reegar.  But you are sort of gimping yourself in three ways.  Unusual to try a first solo that way.

 

Just going amps and ammo will make it a lot easier.  CM and ammo in particular.

At least go for headshots to increase your dps and get more reliable staggers.

I've seen Phase Disruptor stagger Primes. Or perhaps it's my imagination

^ Yeah, I thought they too staggered after a certain amount of damage. Like how it is for Banshees and Praetorians (love when I stare in front of an oncoming buttlazer, gambling that I'll do enough head dps to stagger it... then still get butt lazered to submission anyway).

You are probably only seeing Primes get staggered when you break their shields.

Or because you're using a Disciple, which staggers things. Including bosses. They won't do the stagger that will make them take a step back, but it's stagger nonetheless.

But the Reegar obliterates shields

With some AP or Inci, it should be decent vs armor.

 

At least go for headshots to increase your dps and get more reliable staggers.

 

I try, but I can't always hit. My controller is new and I can't move the cross hair where I want. A mouse would be much better

L2P is for people who have been playing for years and still suck, not for someone who just started.
