^OMG who the hell are all these characters you two are talking about? Go argue this in the DA forums or something.
Fact: Mass Effect is 95% better than Dragon Age

Sardaukar and I are in resounding agreement about the Arishok, just as we are about most things
Yes dear.
Loghain does have irrational fears, but lots of people have lots of irrational fears.
It's all weighed in the balance and scale of things, Arishok's irrational fears seem to extend to the world as a whole and most of the people in it, not necessarily limited to just the society or organization Dragon Age calls "Orlais."
I'm not trying to argue one is better than the other. I think the Arishok works, and I have reservations about Loghain.
Loghain's fear of the French makes perfect sense, it's just that without knowing whether Ostagar was a lost cause and he was right to retreat I can't gauge whether that's a fear that pushes him to some bad decisions, or a fear that actually makes him deceive his king then leave him to die plunging the nation into a particularly stupid civil war. I'd find him more interesting if I knew that he was doing his best to deal with Cailain being stupid.

We really need new info.

Okay. Now I need to go watch an episode right now. Maybe the one with Space Pirates.

Speaking of which, ME:A should have space pirate villains.
As in career-wise, not aesthetically.

Lol, what makes a space dwarf though? You mean a species that mostly lives underground and does a lot of metalwork?
Those are called Volus (ie; Voli???)

I forgot about that! Oh my gosh, how embarrassing.
I really need to re-watch that episode.

I assume you mean the Tyranids, they're rachni in the same way the Trojan War was a playground fight

Well yes, but I figure if you put Tyranids into ME you get rachni. Basically the same thing but they're less Gigery and sing now.
And another show that I skip....

To be fair, I also do not have cable. But then, why would I?
truly why would you sully yourself to exposed to such plebian entertainment

I don't have cable either and it has nothing to do with considering the entertainment low and more to with not all being interested in cable and therefore consider it an unnecessary expense to myself personally.
Also, a lot of shows can be subjective especially when it comes to humor. I personally loathe Family Guy and its humor while other people love the show and its writing.

I was kinda just being silly there... which well, I guess you are too.
At any rate, I tried to convert our statements through these mathematical ratios and it came out as "IHOP is underrated," so I am going to politely set this equation and parts aside if you don't mind... as they no longer seem to make sense..
Well except about fundamentally DA > ME, which is, well 100% accurate.

Ostagar seemed like an extremely defensive position, ideal for combating the Blight, but they also seemed vastly outnumbered and it rarely makes sense in those instances to do anything other than reform.
It honestly probably wasn't even the best idea to retreat, all things considered, but the game is pretty vague on this, I think the point is simply that it arguably was which makes it a compelling point. The ogres and darkspawn were slaughtering forces and had even basically killed Cailan seconds after the tower was lit, if I'm not mistaken, which meant that Loghain's order to retreat came precisely between before the tower being lit (when he was supposed to be waiting, and a lot of damage was already done) and the tower being lit at which point or very simultaneous with that the forces at Ostagar were overrunning Cailan and the other warriors (when it was probably too late to change the outcome of the battle).
My sense is decidedly one way or another Cailan was toast, even if Loghain had attacked at the moment of the signal tower lighting.
In other words, he would of been more or less charging into a battle that was already over.
My greater sense was they were trying to play Cailan was an irrational embracer of tales of heroism, and consequently a problem in a situation requiring actual heroism...
Most of the problems with Loghain seem to come after that Ostagar..
