I have the sword of gith. When i click on the door that leads to the betrayer's gate, i only get this message:

 

"you approach the gate, and the presence shifts within you as before. a surge of anticipation.. and perhaps recognition.  The keyhole is the same as on the first door - a thin, vertical opening crafted to fit a sword"

 

And then the only option i have is to "leave the door alone"....

 

And i DO have that damn sword!! >-<

 

Am i missing something? I don't have a recent save before this point (..i quicksave a lot. I feel pretty stupid right now..) So if there's no way to fix this i have to do the whole academy thing again..sigh..

 

If someone knows a way to solve it, i would really appreciate it!!

looking into the dialog, it suggests that just the silver sword is needed: ie. an item w/ tag "nx1_silver_sword"

Are you updated to v.1.23? if so, you could try giving yourself a sword (right-click/ select your PC first):

Or just try forcing it:

omg! thank you so much! Finally through the gate!

 

The silver sword i added through console looks different than the one the founder gave me :S It's invisible..The one added through console looks like the actual sword. Maybe something went wrong there..Weird

Do you remember if your inventory was full?

A couple days ago i gave the pit fiends the soul(s) they wanted. They "gave me" the Fragmented Soul. Immediately, I bought the Girdle of Cloud Giant Strength (or was it a belt?). The girdle didn't show up. I thought I was ripped off about 200k of gold.

When i went to the headmistress' room, it said I didn't have the final soul, the one given by the pit fiends. My inventory was full. I checked around. Turned out Gann had it, as well as the girdle. I have the ai picking up the junk on the ground for me. Guess the objects were put on the ground. At last the soul was. Usually, when buying stuff, I'm told my inventory is full

I wonder if another party member had the Gith Sword or it was left on the ground.

Just finished this. 

 

Sword of Gith will get you through the first door, but to get through the second door I had to get the "replica" sword of Gith from the furnace. After devouring the priest, there was a conversation with the boy, the spirits left, and I was able to loot the furnace for the replica sword. Then I could get through the second door.. I don't know if order of quest updates affects this or not.
