As we all know, there has been another leak (gameplay information). According to some mysterious reddit user (supposedly verified) he saw - I quote - "non-human enemies drop from Cerberus ships".

Personally, I did like Cerberus from ME books, but in ME3 they were kinda... prosaic, flavourless, pretensious, boring, As much as I would like them to return in ME A, I would not like them to be the main enemy. However, I saw countless other reddit users writing that they do not wanna Cerberus to return ever again.

So, what do you think? Would it upset you if you saw Cerberus again or quite the opposite?

That leak is not credible(r/MassEffect is a moronic hugbox that seems to exist for the sole purpose of posting low-quality images of Mass Effect merch) and no one likes Cerberus except for Mac Walters.

The subreddit has definitely seen better days so many crap fan art/cos play posts.

Meh is just not negative enough for my kneejerk reaction to the thought of fighting Cerberus again.

I lean towards the, "No, just please no," end of the spectrum.

Cerberus and its Prohuman agenda would be a needless complication to the story -Yes I'm aware there are a bunch of Ex cerberus guys among the allied forces-... though lets be real it just be an excuse to bring back the Reaper units cause you know on of them smuggled something onto the ark as backup plan for TIM

I wouldn't complain if Cerberus somehow was in the game. If not, I wouldn't be surprised if they get mentioned once or twice in the game. Humanity #1

Even if that rumored leak is legit, it is always possible the shuttles could be placeholders.

But to answer the OP's question about whether SuperMac should be allowed to put more Cerberus in the series....

It would be pretty easy for Cerberus to emerge in Andromeda. It's a name that is a synonym for human-superiority. And guessing I would say, someone might name his/her posse in that spirit.

On one hand it makes sense for a pro human organisation to be there in the new galaxy.

I had an idea though.. A human organisation that puts other species above them no matter what. (I.e hypothetically if there was a race of bloodthirsty maniac aliens discovered in Andromeda and the pro alien human Organisation gets caught up in the politics and supports this race and sympathises them which makes it difficult for the Alliance or whatever to take them out)

IKR? Good thing that guy is nowhere near the game or anything.

We're doomed.

I wouldn't mind seeing the idea of a pro human terrorist organisation in ME:A.

The organisation itself, as in Cerberus troops both by visual and audio design? Hell no.

Depends on the plot premise.

If it's an ark ship that left before the fallout of ME3 (and especially one where the inhabitants were kept in stasis), then Cerberus makes sense.  The Milky Way species are about to bring their civilizations to a brand new galaxy.  With that kind of blank slate, it makes sense for Cerberus to stow aboard with the aim of perverting a multi-ethnic endeavor towards a human first agenda.

If the plot is different and originated after the events of ME3 and the death of the Illusive Man, then I say no.  Cerberus should be a deflated, rudderless organization composed of bigots and the cult-minded deemed too weak for Reaper upgrades.  If they are anything in this new chapter, they should be a joke - impotent zealots or a political fart in the wind, like Terra Firma.

I could see Cerberus being an appropriate enemy if the circumstances were right.  But I don't need them there just as a touchstone for the original trilogy, and I certainly won't play with pangs in my heart if their zerg rush numbers are absent forevermore.

Cerberus as a faction? No. But a lone crew member whom subscribes to Cerberus' ideals...one that may or may not try and sabotage the entire mission? I'd be down for that. Definitely. Especially if it's not a large scale ship.

However, if it were on a large scale (such as an intergalactic city-scape) it'd be very interesting to see the conflicts that arise on an ark ship. Crime. Terrorism and such. People that never had a choice in going...maybe they were just born into it. There's plenty of potential for different worldviews.

How about new enemies and friends, how about change....instead of usual as if we were some kind of fossils.

If it were up to me I would let N7 to rot with ol' ME trilogy as well, sadly seems some kind of "Fossil" had to come back in game to please all 'fossil lover' fans....I would prefer if it stays on one, because this is supposed to be completely new ME game not 'copy-paste' of old one.

One of the initial leaks had a mention of krogan colony ships. While old it creates a image of race specific colonies. Competition for resources between races might be a theme. So I could see them pushing in a Cerberus outlook with the paragon/renegade divide be between siding with them or trying to create cooperation between races. Wouldn't want it but it's cliche enough I could see them doing it.

I can't be bothered to +1 every post that says "NOOOOOOOO" in some way, shape or form, so just assume it's implied ... and for every similar post that follows this.

I really disappointed that they reverted to Cerberus as a simplistic goon squad notion in ME3.

So i hope they keep them away from Andromeda.

Cerberus has been played out, and they have already stolen the limelight from big bads like the Reapers, so no I don't want to ever see them again. Besides, why even bother with a "Humanity 1st" Terrorist organization like Cerberus when the in-game science and lore already agrees with their belief systems?

Humans are the most genetically diverse species in the galaxy, we are the quickest to rise to a Council seat, we have overthrown the Volus as the most economically powerful species, we ran circles around the Turians during the First Contact War, the Reapers see us as the only species of this cycle worthy of becoming a Reaper dreadnaught, etc, etc.

We don't need a group who's belief system is that "Humans should be first!" when the very laws of the narrative agree with them. It would be like the Nazi's belief in the Aryan master race being proven to be scientifically accurate. If it's a scientific fact do we really need a Nazi running around saying how great the Aryans are, and how they should be first in everything?

In universe, I'd say Cerberus is a name synonymous with terrorism and worse. While there are almost certainly going to be human supremacists amongst the people in Andromeda, they'd be mad to associate themselves with Cerberus (openly at least), given the reputation said organization has.
