So what's the solution? Ruby Slippers? Maybe we'll find some ancient, alien MacGuffin on Mars one day. LOL

The point is that life in Andromeda could very well be like us in 2016 or earlier. Why not? Just because they don't have Reapers doesn't automatically mean they'll be more advanced. WE don't have Reapers. And remember who created the relays to begin with, after all...

And by the same logic it could be billions of years more advanced. Why not?

And lets not forget the Reapers were created by an near invincible organic master race.

If one of those exists there and didn't do something dumb like create the catalyst?

Could, yes.  However, the absence of one does not guarantee the existence of another. It's just as logical that they be superior as it is logical for them to be equal or inferior.

I'm so sick of Cerberus and their nonsense. I would be disappointed if BW isn't able to come out with a newer idea for a villain in this game.

I don't think Cerberus would be of value to the story considering how they played out over the last trilogy.

Especially after the third game.

I can't think of any reason why Cerberus should be in Andromeda. A Dinosaur DLC would make more sense.

I think the idea of Cerberus as on org is fine, it's just the way they were presented in ME3 that kind of ruined it. If we get to fight some actually competent units who have enhanced capabilities due to things like a hive mind and what not, then I welcome the possibility, but if Cerberus shuttles are gonna be dropping batches of the base level enemy units in the game again well.....

Remnants of their ideology spread. Same reason why neo nazi groups exist today.

I was ok with Cerberus back in ME1 when they were a small organization with limited resources and limited competence. But now, I would be upset if Cerberus came back. We had an entire galaxy with lots of aliens who had been around far longer than humanity, but in the span of 20+ years, a young douchebag human organization steals the spotlight, manages to somehow subvert all of that, manage to be connected to everything, be impossibly rich and resourceful, build a military that somehow rivals the Citadel and Alliance military combined, and beat the aliens at their own game which they've been at for thousands of years. I honestly hated the annoying Humanity-F**k-Yeah vibe that they gave off.

Taking a little inspiration from Lovecraft, I want humanity to be a young upstart interstellar race that is barely out of its diapers on a cosmic scale. I want it to be the opposite of special, to be just another species out of many species (none of that genetically diverse BS from ME2) I want human superiority and dominance to take a far backseat. I want humans to struggle for their scraps. I want aliens to not be so damn impressed by humans or subverted by them.

See, but that kind'a worries me.  If we get like nine new species, and all of the older species' roles are diminished, then that doesn't really make it a ME game.  Sure, it's set in the ME universe.  But with all new races it's so foreign that it could be called a different game.  I hope that this is what they decide against.  Or at least, give us a brief introductory side to them, while still concentrating on the species that we know and love.  Then in ME:A 2, they can start introducing some characters of the Adromedan variety to us.

EDIT  :  Oh yah, I still don't think the Cerberus war is over.  Not yet.  Not with TIM's statement on Cronos Station about Cerberus being an idea, and that idea is not so easily broken.  I expect it to be over by halfway through this game, if not a quarter of the way through.  Of course, if DA:I is any way of thinking about the length of this game, halfway through may be 60 hours.  :o

By this logic The Next Generation isn't Star Trek.

And for some old die hard fans, it isn't and never will be.

Its entirely possible that Cerberus was/is involved in at least the research and construction phases as its noted in ME2 that they have their fingers in almost every pie that had *Alliance* next to it.

Cerberus is and was always an ideal of humanity's superiority and protection against the encroaching influence of Alien politics; unless it benefited us. Now are they evil? Yeah. But that's mainly do to very shite writing and not due to the faction itself. Mass Effect 2 was the closest we came to having a 'grey' Cerberus which for all intents and purposes if properly written, would've been entirely grey.

However, Bioware's strength is less in plot and faction conflict and more in character and grander world building. I highly doubt we'll see them and if they exist they'll be so balls to the walls paramount of evil that they'll borderline cartoon villains and come around full circle.
