isn't Andromeda sopposed and planned to be a new trilogy
No, it actually isn't. That's just people letting speculation rule them so much that they accept it as fact.

Ah I see - and what a pity I quite liked the idea
I don't see why people are so gaga over this elcor plushie.
I just don't get it.

Cause you ain't BSNing right, bro.
I mean, nobody really gives a flying toss about interesting plotlines, lore and other trivial matters.
It's all about the fishtanks, who to bang, hairstyles and Tumbrlesque novels explaining how Liara's romance is a paedophile's wet dream
isn't Andromeda sopposed and planned to be a new trilogy - so the ending is still years away... we should
cross that bridgerant and rage when we get there
BioWare has not confirmed if this story will have three parts. People are just assuming "trilogy" because of the previous games.
I don't even think this is anything to worry about. The whole reaction to ME3 was traumatic for them and I have to think they have no desire to repeat that ever again. I think it's a safe bet you won't see that ending.

That as far as I know hasn't been confirmed yet but it's possible I guess. I'd suggest taking it one step at a time anyway. Also I doubt they'll make the same mistakes again.
Meanwhile in Bioware.
Spoiler
Every time they see a thread like this, I imagine this happening.
Its funny how people want to criticize ME3's ending for "space magic" when ME2's intro has some serious space magic, yet the intro is praised.
Do people really enjoy Project Lazarus? I think it's one of the dumbest things in the series and is superfluous.
They do, they do. But when they do, it's against our own trust we put in their games.
Most times I've seen people describing the subtlety of Bioware, it's really just a drawn out headcanon conclusion they've come to. To be fair, Bioware can only broadly plan ahead for games which take years to make, so I don't expect them to have a lot of really subtle things going on. There is more in DA, but the ME games seem to change trajectory in each game rather than build off of information cleverly hidden.

It's too early to know since we have no idea what the story is, but I would assume Bio will decide how many games they can get out of the new galaxy after the launch of the game. After ME3's ending, I don't know that they are confident enough to plan for three games, or if they are going to do more like DA and just keep making games with an overarching shared setting and characters.
Mass Effect 2 got away with daftness by front loading it. You then had a whole game to distract you from thinking about it. With 3 it went game, silly, roll credits, leaving it to sit in the front of your brain with little else to think about. So they could repeat the ending to 3, but as 2 shows they need to put it at the beginning.
Mass Effect 3: Take Back the Planet (Now with Extra Condensed Mac Walters/Casey Hudson Goodness™ had 99 problems in its ending but space magic wasn't one.
Well I'm pretty sure BioWare isn't sitting around going "You know what was great? when the internet hated us because of the ending to ME3. Let's do that again".
So at the very least, I imagine they'll probably try.
I don't even think this is anything to worry about. The whole reaction to ME3 was traumatic for them and I have to think they have no desire to repeat that ever again. I think it's a safe bet you won't see that ending.
Yes, but they promoted one of them to lead writer of MEA.
Very inspiring.
But I thought mac got promoted to Creative Director for MEA?
Besides the fact that the ending, and specifically the choices, didn't make a lot of sense, the main problem with ME3 was that Priority Earth wasn't particularly fun or different from the rest of the game. The only thing that was marginally different was when they decided to test absurd screenshake.
Please bioware, make a sensible, razonable ending, taking into account everything the protagonist has done throughout the campaign, no space magic please. that's all
I definitely hope they've learned lessons. No attempts to railroad a particular fate for protagonist, no deux machina deciding the endings 5 minutes from the end. agree that actions throughout campaign should have an effect and if there are different ending paths they should be clearly presented early. Also remember to have a proper epilogue and not have to deliver a rushed slideshow afterwards.
The Sopranos ending was actually brilliant. There are lots of subtle things going on there that you have to pay attention to notice.
I'm not sure Bioware could pull off something similar. They don't really do subtle.
There still were plenty of people that cancelled their subscriptions to HBO because of it and most of the talk I saw about it was negative, just like what happened with Mass Effect 3.
Exactly.
Drama 101.
Climax, Denouement, Epilogue.
Leave them wanting more, and leave them with some hope.
Is that too much to ask for?
Every game developer who has put out a game in the past 7 years seems to have forgotten the denouement and epilogue part. They think the second you beat the final boss the game has every prerogative to just end. They need to cut it out with the blue-balling.

The difference is that they were people who just didn't get the Sopranos ending and thought nothing happened, when
It's not really comparable to ME3's endings in that with ME3 what you saw was really and unfortunately what you got. It was also poorly written, a criticism that couldn't be accurately leveled against the Soprano's finale.
