I agree, The combat tutorial is completely optional and non existent when you boot up ME3.
And these clods need to learn about the ropes of the space marines.
the player should be put in a position of uncertainty and slowly introduced to the mechanics of the game in a unique fashion

Multiplayer is rarely my thing, but let's face it...with or without tutorials, some people are just going to be better at certain games than others. There are a lot of reasons and few of them are a lack of education in game mechanics.
Maybe a better answer for the hardcore crowd is a tiered matching system. Your average individual score across all matches affects which gamers you're paired with. Do well and you move up to the majors. Can't cope and you stay in the tee-ball class. That way you're always playing alongside or paired against players of similar skill.
Of course, that removes all the low-skill players from your sight and gives you fewer people to feel superior to and make humblebrag threads about. But lacking an Internet mirror to flex into isn't the point, is it? Is it?

Even if they made the tutorial more complex then what Mass Effect has offered, it doesn't mean people will pay attention to it. Now I do wish there was a gating mechanic for the difficulties for I got tired of seeing people queuing up for Gold and Platinum without any gear for that difficulty.

^ What are you talking about? Everyone would benefit from the tutorial. SPs can finally play the game successfully and I could make more friends.
Win win in my books
Believe it or not, I'm not judging. Being a little snarky, maybe, but I've always liked your posts, so no disrespect meant. I'm just saying that even the best tutorial isn't going to make everyone a capable player.
Some people have physical or other limitations that prevent them from reaching a competitive level. Others might lack the cutting edge hardware or the years of TPS/FPS experience to keep up technologically or skill-wise. And most people just never have the desire or reach a level that pushes them to play above "Casual" or "Normal" on the games they play.
I don't think that a tutorial in a combat system that is (let's face it) relatively simple is going to to suddenly up the talent across the board. I don't think it's going to elevate more MP people to non-scrub status. But hey, I'm not against a tutorial either. Aside from the changes introduced at the beginning of each successive game, I don't remember a lot of training in Mass Effect combat after the first game, save for maybe my one time through the tutorials aboard the Normandy. Maybe a refresher for a whole new installment of the game would help everyone. But probably not to the degree you're hoping.

If MEA is like ME3 then you will have to play some MP for best possible ending. So once again it would be beneficial to both SP and MP experience

Step 1: Point the loud end of the gun at the enemy
Step 2: Pull trigger
Though a tutorial isn't a terrible idea as long as it's either not too long or I can skip it.

^ it should just be a subtle thing. Play as you go. Like forcing certain squadmates during a couple missions and having them prime everything so you can get a ton of chances to detonate. Hopefully sufficient enough for even the scrubbiest of players
You are vastly underestimating people's ability to be terrible at things.

Who needs a tutorial, when you can just practice in multiplayer alongside the randos?

I think it would be ok to have it in the main menu, combat training or something like that. At first I only played as a soldier because I didn't know how to use biotic and tech moves. Now I can use biotic moves but I still have trouble with tech moves.

Waits for the inevitable
"GARRGH! TUTORIAL WILL BE VORCHA ONLY AND IN TUTORIAL GAVORN MUST DIE!"
There's something missing. Perhaps a bit about melting people's faces off if they play poorly.

The tutorial was Vancouver with Anderson. For ME2 it was Lazarus Station. MEA will probably do something similar.

All they gotta do is require Multiplayer for Singleplayer success again (but make it to where you automatically lose the SP mode if you are too lazy or cowardly to put in enough work on the battlefield, instead of just getting better endings) and delete the Puggernaut. Then, noobs would be forced to either git gud or git rekt.
Devs had it right by nerfing FBWGG, but then they introduce that abominable toaster, and with it Box of Shame tactics.

You shouldn't need to do anything in MP to have success in SP.

^They could explain basic game mechanics. Biotic/tech combos and ammo combos for starters. Took me a long time to figure those ones out, and if it weren't for MP, I never would have realized why certain things exploded.
If MEA is like ME3 then you will have to play some MP for best possible ending. So once again it would be beneficial to both SP and MP experience
I don't think a more complex tutorial is needed for things like combo abilities, but I think the skills themselves needed to be more descriptive for that. For they did touch on combos on Mars, but were it failed was what abilities worked together. For me in the skill description just having something like "Biotic Primer" and "Biotic Detonator" would give explain that much better then any tutorial would.
