Curious, do Knight Enchanter perks regen your barrier? If so, does that apply to all damage you do or is it limited to the damage you do with the sword thingy?

The Fade Shield perk applies to all damage done, when combined with some of the other barrier perks knight enchanters are nearly indestructible.

The best mage specialization from a storytelling perspective is Rift Mage. For Lavellans, it could either be Rift Mage or Knight Enchanter, due to the Knight Enchanter's Elven roots.

Anyone else try this? I gave Vivienne a make over. I gave her armor a special ability to generate 3 guard on hit AND I have a heal-on-kill attribute on her staff blade... Sooooooo.... She has a shield that almost never goes down and a thick hide of armor plating if it did. After battle you can kill some critter and poof back to full health without the need of a potion.

I just soloed a high dragon with this...I took a whole team in with me, but they got cut down pretty quick. Only took out 1/5 of the health bar before it was just dragon & dragonlings VS the Ice Queen. Took forever, but didn't even get her boots scuffed. And this was nightmare!

Rift mage is still the best for RP purposes IMO, but the KE is a damned god. Fen'Heral can suck it!

Knight Enchanter was super easy to justify for my Dalish mage. Specialization has its roots in ancient elven tradition, you can bet she's gonna be all over that. Combine that with the fact that is seems to come with a bit of military command training which is a good idea for the Inquisitor to have. And to top it all off it comes with a magical light saber. There was no question really.

I wonder if those noodle arms don't get tired from waving the sword around.

I'd imagine rift magic since it's the most relevant considering the situation.

Necromancy for my "Prince Charming” Karl.

"Dear" Vivienne hates it. Are more reasons needed at this? ;)

Huh?? I never got a comment from Vivienne about choosing it.

I do know that Blackwall, Cole, and Sera detest it, while Cass and Josie both express reservations.

Only Solas is understanding of that one.

Also, you know how Rift Mage gets a special dialogue-option/action in Solas's personal quest?

... Necromancer totally should have had the option to raise the dead a few times -- LOL!

Josephine: Inquisitor, I know this is silly, but we have to put this box of Florianne's remains on trial.

Inquisitor: LOL! Not to worry, I can bring her back -- Wooohoohoohoo...

Crowd: AHHHH!!!

For the title, none of them, since they do not add much, if anything to the story. Some make more thematic sense, like Rift Mage, and some fit a player's RP better, like Knight Enchanter.

Yeah, but Solas hints at their not so great past. So in a way, very consistent with what elves are, but not in the way they should want to be, I think.
