First and foremost, hello everyone.
I am not new to Dragon Age but I purchased DA:I a few weeks ago, I already played till I reached Skyhold, I am playing on Normal difficulty, but my inquisitor now dies very much constantly, she is fried whenever I encounter those bothersome Red Lyrium Templars and Horrors especially the one that shoots a lot of pins, I die also from despair demon constantly and rifts battles is becoming hard, I already defeated Fereldan frostback at level 10, now I am level 17 and can't get near those dragons in Emprise du Lion, and I am simply lacking any kind of strategy to win most of the battles, also I can't find good equipment to gear up with or simply I have no comparison to tell if my gear is good or not, my Inquisitor is a Human Two-Handed Style Warrior level 17.
Any help or guide would be welcome.
~thanks
Welcome!
Kind of a lot to talk about. I'll touch on the biggest items, but there are lots of little things that can help, like, Bee Grenades. Upgrade them to the max.
Emprise du Lion is one of the highest level, and therefore most difficult, maps in the game. The dragons are the most difficult and the rifts you find there are the second most difficult in the main game (Hissing Wastes are the most difficult). If you haven't done much in the middle difficulty maps yet, like the Emerald Graves and The Exalted Plains, that could explain why you are struggling with EdL. The loot and crafting materials you would have gathered in those maps would have helped you with EdL.
If you want to go dragon hunting, you must, must, must gear appropriately. Bee Grenades, Antivan Fire for the frost dragons, best possible armor and weapons, best Fade-Touched bonus powers, Dragon-slaying runes for everyone. While it is possible to do no crafting and beat the game (I've done it), it is waaaaaaaaaaay easier to craft good gear.
Which brings me to crafting in general. Work on crafting better gear, particularly armor. At level 17 you should be using Tier 3 schematics with Tier 3 materials.
You didn't mention a specialization, but I bet it is Reaver. Reaver can be a fun 2H specialization, but it takes extra effort to learn how to play it properly. Or else, you just die a lot, as seems to be the case for you. You would have had a much easier time as Champion. Worse is if you don't have a specialization at all, at level 17, that's a pretty big mistake (unless you are doing a speedrun or other specialty victory condition). Explaining how to play Reaver would take a whole post in itself, but I'll just say this: craft for critical chance and heal on hit, spam War Cry and Horn of Valor to generate guard, use Devour to restore health, and combos are your friend. If you are not using Pommel Strike to set up combos, you are missing out on tons of damage. Not to mention Flow of Battle.
If your 2H is using a non-unique sword or greataxe, switch to a maul. Unless you have the unique greataxe Rebuke of the Sunderland (which, btw, is relatively easy to get in EdL if you have a rogue with Deft Hands), mauls will give you higher base damage than swords or greataxes, level for level. Since abilities like Mighty Blow and Whirlwind multiply your base weapon damage, the higher that base damage, the more damage those abilities do. Once you get to Level 20, do the quest to get Sulevin's Blade, which is one of the best 2H weapons in the main (non-DLC) game.
Finally, post your 2H build. Section by section, describe where you spent your skill points. Did you put any points into Battlemaster or Vanguard (you should have)? What passives do you have? If there are problems with your build, we can help you fix it with a Tactician's Amulet.
