Han Solo: Daft Punk, do you prefer singleplayer or multiplayer?
Daft Punk: ... Uh...
Singleplayer. While they can make a fun Multiplayer, Bioware's strengths are in Singleplayer and thus they should focus on that so they can make the best game they can. Not that it matters since each have separate budgets so Bioware can focus on both.
SP is the one that's going to get more focus since it's the far bigger part of the game.
What I mostly want is for the forums to grasp the idea that MP doesn't drain resources from SP, but that's not gonna stop people from blaming anything and everything they don't like about SP on the fact that there was a MP.
singleplayer only no!!multiplayer
Please excuse my bias self, but I like how most answers are leaning towards singleplayer. Mainly because I prefer singleplayer to multiplayer. I found out the Andromeda will have multiplayer, and a "red flag" instantly came to mind in my head.
It really shouldn't be a red flag though, because as noted the MP is a separate budget. Not doing MP would just result in them not getting that money at all.
Not to mention that MP doesn't even make use of writers and barely needs any voice acting, so it's not like they would be taking those people away from SP.
Single-player. That's the whole point of these games - building characters and a setting for us to care about and giving us a personal journey.
I'm long past worrying about MP being a part of these games and I hope that whatever multiplayer MEA has is amazing. But if you're more focused on creating infinitely-repeatable combat scenarios than you are on creating a complex, sweeping character experience, then you're making a Bioware game wrong.

I am actually for Multiplayer and I don't even play multiplayer. Like @Cyonan said, its a separate budget and it will only make games down the line better because they will have more staff and more money to make better games.
I remember seeing the Special Edition of that gif and getting annoyed when Daft Punk shot first.
Why even ask this? The answer should always be singleplayer because it is Bioware's biggest strength (Characters, Story , and Lore). It's also the main reason people play Bioware games.
The way you stated it kind of makes it seem like everything will be alright.
I feel slightly better...
... stop being a paragon, Cyonan.
Well, it's not that SP is going to be awesome.
Just that if it sucks, it's not MP's fault =P
Here is a meme to entertain you while you think about how you will answer my question.

This .gif kind of freaked me out.
I'm was listening to Daft Punk when I opened this thread. ![]()

i disagree it's going to be similar to me3 where you have to play multiplayer to get the best ending but this time its to get the best upgrades and i'm hoping multiplayer don't get involved in the single player story and that sucks enough for me because of multiplayer...and just maybe you can blame me3 multiplayer for me3 single player bad ending.

I'll agree that SP and MP should remain separate from each other, but even in ME3 the ending wasn't a result of MP being added. It was still bad even with the added breathe scene from full war assets.
The reasons for ME3 ending being what it was are many. But MP had nothing to do with it being a giant mess, it was just one piece of a much larger picture.i disagree it's going to be similar to me3 where you have to play multiplayer to get the best ending but this time its to get the best upgrades and i'm hoping multiplayer don't get involved in the single player story and that sucks enough for me because of multiplayer...and just maybe you can blame me3 multiplayer for me3 single player bad ending.

*sigh* I'm just going to quote DragonRacer again.
Again, this myth raises its ugly head. Single player team and multiplayer team are separate teams and separate budgets. Multiplayer does NOT take away from single player's team or budget.
Here is an entire explanation by an actual game dev: http://askagamedev.t...ayer-takes-away
Pertinent take-away:
"The important thing to realize here is that there is no situation where the single player game will get the additional resources that would have gone to the development of the multiplayer components unless revenue forecasts can somehow support that the additional resources spent will result in additional revenue. The single player game is estimated from the get go to require a certain budget. There might be stretch goals for the single player, but the multiplayer budget is actually an entirely separate bid. Because it’s a separate bid, even if you cut that feature, you wouldn’t get to reallocate the resources that would have been allocated for it. You just wouldn’t get them at all."
damn sp butthurt clod stealing my memes, leave my buddy larry alone. or else:

Same here it's why I like Bioware's games as they do have a great thing going in their stories and gameplay for the most part. Plus given I only plzay games that have singleplayer modes I wouldn't want that to change.
Sp scrap mp
