Is this a question that Han is asking Daft Punk with a blaster on them? Expecting an answer under duress? Well if I had to chose one over the other I would have to know the specifics of the game in question.

 

If, for example, ME:Andromea is nothing but a space themed DA:Inquistion; filled with pointless fetch quests, and an unremarkable villain; but the multiplayer featured playable Rachni and customization for the multiplayer characters then I would say focus on MP.

 

If the MP is nothing but a space themed DAMP; with annoying pre-gen characters, and a god awful loot/RNG system; but the main campaign featured an exploration of the unknown 'alien' parts of the Andromeda galaxy then I would say focus on SP.

 

But again, I would say why not focus on both, and give players the best of both worlds.

 

MEA being a DAI clone is a deal breaker for many of us even buying the game so the question would then become moot.

They should definitely focus on MP. Story isn't EAware strong suit. MP in ME3 was excellent and was the only saving grace of the game. I would say the same about Inquisition as well, but I didn't play the MP.

Liking or disliking the singleplayer campaign is irrelevant. The claim that multiplayer is its only saving grace is rather dubious. In any case, go easy on those crazy pills. I hear they're bad for the liver.

A long and replayable singleplayer and a simple but fun multiplayer. (Mass effect 3 multiplayer for my was perfect).

Why are you trying to change something that's great and works perfectly? Mass Effect is a single player game why would they focus on multiplayer when 99% of players buy it for the single player.

Singleplayer should be the main focus obviously. However, an improved multiplayer is what will bring people back even after they finished the game for the tenth time.

I play Bioware games for the SP. If I've wanted a MP shooter, I would have played Unreal Tournament.

Which originally was a fear of mine when my SP-only self first heard about ME3 having an MP element.

 

And then I actually played it. And even mic'd up. Which revealed that I was - gasp, horror - a female gamer on the Internet. The primest of targets.

 

Want to take a wild guess, out of playing hundreds of hours of ME3MP across the PS3, PC, and XBox 360 (yes, I enjoyed the MP so much that I actually bought it on two other platforms) how many times I was stalked, harassed, received hate mail messages, had guys come on to me, was told to go suck various things, or reminded about what they did to my mother last night?

 

Zero.

 

Maybe I was born under the luckiest of stars, but I have literally had zero problems with anyone in the ME3MP community either here on the forum (where I do admit several like to play the role of troll, but the SP forums have the exact same sort of people who like to troll as well) or actually in-game.

 

So, not sure where this horrible CoD-mentality community is you're talking about. Unless I'm just so deep into the community that I cannot see that I'm some horrible plague that should be eradicated from this forum. Clearly, my nearly 10,000 posts here have been nothing but MP chest-beating and drivel. Yup. We've clearly tarnished BioWare.

What CoD mentality? Disgusting community? It's been my experience that the MP community for ME3 has been largely fun and fairly helpful, and the forum is pretty amusing. I like to lurk there and drink coffee and read all the comments.

No, no, clearly the ME3MP community is disgusting. You know, the way we attack each other for not liking a certain love interest and the way we waged an entire Internet battle because we didn't like the way MP ended or the way we like to bring politics and social justice into every discussion for the sake of watching the inevitable flame wars break out and we're just entirely awful, intolerant, disgusting people.

One does have to appreciate the irony. Personally I'm indifferent to multiplayer in and of itself and greatly prefer singleplayer, but nothing is quite so awkward or as golden as discussions on the biochemistry of quarian bodily fluids, and the wonders of the companion discussion boards. It was kind of sad what happened to the Jacobmancers though. To think that all 5 of them perished by being sucked into a singularity.
