Funny is never played out. Lighthearted characters are the best there ever was.
Oh but it is I don't want another tongue and cheek character. I want character with a dark humor bordering on the macabre.

Jack's also a better lay and she's not afraid to say so.
Personally I prefer Tali, but Jack probably is a better lay.
Tali you risk killing her just by breathing on her. Jack is the kind of girl you just know is into all sorts of kinky stuff.

I'd wager Tali might surprise you if you gave her a chance
"That's mostly just over the suit action."
As if to say: We're not kids here Commander there's all kinds of fun stuff I could show you.
BTW those suits sound awesome Bioware.

Morrigan, Isabella, Jack, Sera....... There aren't a ton of them but Bioware's given us a few female love interests with a good sense of humor. Perhaps these ladies didn't have your sense of humor TC but they all had a good one.
Finally. Took 3 pages.
Jack.
Jack.
And more Jack.
Hah.

Tali seems more innocent, though that means she can be taught a lot of... interesting things.
It's mostly just overcoming the fact that coughing in her general direction could kill her.

And I have romanced two of these four ladiea.... Morrigan, and Isabelle.. Sadly; I've never experience Jack's and Sera's romance.

I thought about romancing Isabela. But then there was that rather unfortunate circumstance at the clinic with Anders. After I heard that, I was just like, "hmm...yeeeaahh...nooo..I don't..no. I'm just a silly goose, Bela. Sorry."

I half expected the first post to be a love letter to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
Most of the LI's in Bioware games have humor. Are any of them straight-up comedians? No. Then again, most companions are soldiers of one sort or another.

Sera.
Though you might disagree on her looks.
And you have to play as a woman to get to the juicy bits (double entendre).
But damn, did she make me laugh.
Sera was extremely immature. Sure she had her moments but I'd rather a different type of humor.

I have to disagree. I didn't find Sera funny or amusing. She acted like a 10 year old child. Not really my idea of a humorous woman.
Agree. It was clear they were trying to be funny. They just failed miserably. If m/e picked her writers up I'd say just avoid comedy altogether.

Why humorous?
Well, humor is usually the best to provide levity in the worst moments, and cuts through the bullsh*t.

Kundry was blessed with an immortal sense of humor which the character Ellen Tigh portrayed well in a scifi story.

Well we had my favourite Mass Effect character Kasumi Goto (I like to be unique), too bad she got reduced to a vase status in ME3 before Citadel at least. She wasn't romanceable though, what a shame :/

Personally i definitely don't want plain Li's and don't really want fixed sexualities either. I can appreciate both the intellect of past Mass Effect LI's as well as their physical beauty, one doesn't subtract from the other.
Nobody said one subtracted from the other, just that it's fundamentally ridiculous that every female character of any importance in any game is drop-dead gorgeous. The issue of varying levels of physical attractiveness is something every person in the world deals with every single day. Pretending that that omnipresent and very real factor in a woman's life only goes one way in games, or movies or books for that matter, hugely dehumanizes female fictional characters in general on top of reinforcing the unhealthy and irrational worship of women's physical beauty in culture.
It's not something that bothers me a whole lot while playing, just makes me want to roll my eyes, but if I had a chance to influence the game development towards refreshing and engaging love interests for my own Pathfinder, as this thread is supposed to hypothesize, that's definitely something I'd keep in mind. That's all I'm saying.
I personally think fixed sexualities go a long way toward establishing three-dimensional LIs who aren't just there for potential romance value. That fixed sexuality being heterosexual was mostly a joke. As in real life, I haven't yet felt it actually unfair for an attractive LI to lean in the other direction, just regretful that I didn't have a chance.

You create humororous romanceable characters if you have ideas, if you are inspired, if you want, as a writer think about that. Not because other people require it. Very often when it's the latter, the result is not really good, it feels forced, unnatural and actually most people don't find the character intended that way funny. Not everyone laugh or smile to the same things, has the same standard with jokes. The best is then to be inspired first. If you are not, if you feel you haven't really ideas around it, then nope, think about doing something else. It is not required to have necessarily a character like that in the team. There are many other interesting personalities that can be created, even a few relatively close to what people wish.
Anyways, I prefer when Bioware doesn't read or take into account the list of what people want with their LIs when it's about the writting. Just follow your concepts, ideas, and what you'd like to do in your head. Much better with more potential.
