If you could switch 2 romance options, who would you cut, and who would replace them?

Vivienne as much as I hate her would have been a really interesting romance choice as well.

Exploring such a strong character as a LI could be really really interesting story telling, and allow for a LI with a backbone who wouldn't just agree with everything you do.  Viv has a very strong point of view about...well....everything, so if you made a romance where she stuck to her guns and didn't just adore you immediately, challenged you if you did something she didn't like and even dumped you, it would be fabulous darling.  ;)

But then if you were on the same page as her you could be a very solid team.

Love her or loathe her, it would make for some great tension, especially if you were allowed to disagree with her and argue the toss over everything.  Perhaps in the future Bioware would explore a relationship like that.  And get Indira Varma to be the VA.  :D

I wouldn't replace anyone but I too think it would be nice if the dwarves got some loving too. Would definitely approve if Scout Harding was allowed to be a fully fleshed out romance option.

Also, I'd totally flirt with Samson. Really.

But I guess I'm with Gilli-chan on this: none shall be replaced but give me more hug options dammit!

Sera already does that, although... not in the way people would like.

And before that we had Morrigan and Alistair.

Does she?  I haven't romanced her yet so I wouldn't know.  I keep hearing great things about her as a LI so I'm looking forward to experiencing it.

I honestly don't think Vivienne could have had an authentic emotional attachment to the Inquisitor, given her current/recently-ended relationship with Bastien, but it could have been interesting if we had been allowed a political union with her if she didn't become Divine. Similar to Anora's political marriage, except we wouldn't have married Vivienne, she would have had the title of mistress of the Inquisitor just like she was to Bastien. This could be for either male or female, we would have just had to flirt with her consistently and maybe have the nobility knowledge perk in order to unlock this.

Oh honey child, just you wait.

The thing with Sera is, if you RP a certain character you'll be fine with her, but if your PC doesn't agree with her views, it can be rough. Plus, a Dalish PC has more conflict than others. (Choose a Qunari if you want the easiest time getting on her good side!)

Eh, it would have been more interesting for the relationship with Bastien to be the fake one and the one with the Inquisitor to be genuine.

I'd want to add Harding as a female bi option, and maybe remove one of the straight guys? Probably Blackwall (sorry, Blackwall). Nothing against him personally, but making Cullen an important teammate without making him romanceable would've led to riots. Meanwhile Solas has a very unique romance due to his role in the plot, and I think the game benefits from that option. It's something I've never seen done before.

That would be challenging for me, personally. If I met someone who has been in a relationship with someone for years, to later learn it was a fake political alliance the entire time, I don't think I could enter into a "genuine" relationship with that person. I wouldn't trust them, which I need to serve as the foundation of a real relationship.

If we began a romance with her before finding out about Bastien, there would still be the issue that she didn't tell us about her lover of years when we began our relationship.

That's fine. I think that Vivienne would not exactly be a popular romance anyway. However, any relationship with Bastien doesn't have to be "fake" if the arrangement is honest; they can be friends/allies with benefits, with her developing actual romantic feelings towards the Inquisitor.

Viv is a terrible person, but a great character. Being hot helps.

As I said, she doesn't really work as an alternative to Cas, as they share the same beliefs, and only a small subset of the people that can romance Cas could romance Viv. She is even more anti-Mage, pro-Chantry. Granted, her views are completely greedy and self-serving

I would make Sera bi, or make Viv romanceable. Both romances for guys (Cass and Josy) are pretty similar (they even look somewhat similar). So, remove Josy, add either bi Sera, or Viv.

Wouldn't remove any of the male romances - they are fine.

Oh I didn't know that.  I was thinking of a female Trevelyan who is really down to earth, but there'd be some conflict with Sera hating nobles which I thought could be interesting.

But you can hug Bethany.https://youtu.be/RQJ5dC5Ze1s

You only hug her if you side with the templars? I always side with the mages.

Side note: I just want to say Sera bugs the hell out of me. She's a self-hating elf.

I'd trade Josephine's romance for Scout Harding. And I would like a male elf romance who's bi or gay. But not Solas. Maybe Lysas.

I did Sera's romance with a down to earth Trevelyan but it felt a bit like dating a rebel teenager. I know Sera doesn't take anything serious and in the beginning it was cute, but my Inquisitor tried to take Inquisiting serious and be a good leader, and Sera just felt really wrong as a sidekick.

I only played her romance once, and it was with Adaar because I knew she would be into a Qunari. But from what I've heard, she has a crisis point with a Lavellan, and I think she also has some unique dialogue options for mage!Inquisitors. I'm not sure if Trevelyan has any specific noble dialogues. What was more important was how we deal with her personal quest, as she will approve or disapprove based on our actions (if we have the nobility perk we can choose an extra option).

But yeah, she is fairly juvenile and likes pranks a lot, which isn't a bad thing, but it does feel like the Inquisitor who romances her either has to share many of her interests or else RP as being very tolerant and not being bothered about Sera's narrow worldview.

Ok, thank you.

I usually pick a LI who is very like my character, I like to have lots in common so the attraction feels natural.  I guess I'd have to be a fun loving, silly Inquisitor, or perhaps someone who finds her refreshing compared to all the old windbags in Skyhold.  ;)

I think Sera's romance would work great with a dwarf :D I can see dwarves who already got kicked out of the carta as being not too serious and making light of the Inquisition.

As I said in that other thread, I truly regret romancing Cassandra. In my head I imagine breaking up during that two-year period. Then power-marriage with (Divine) Vivienne.

Not that I would scrap her romance, I just wish I hadn't done it.

Vivienne and Scout Harding would make excellent LIs. Leliana, also, but it's pick-2 so she does not make the cut. As for the existing, IB and Blackwall are quite expendable.

We already know that she would be into Dagna.
