The game has five male and three female LIs, and people are suggesting dropping Sera or Josie for a male character. OK...

Why is that weird? You know different people have different preferences for video game romance options as well as different orientations, right?

Yeah, but "a past" could mean just about anything. In this case, as Hanako said, he killed an entire family for gold, then let his soldiers take the fall and ran. I mean, it's up to each person whether they think he can be redeemed or even if he should try, but I don't know why you find it surprising that given that (and other, more subjective reasons) a lot of people wouldn't be interested in his romance arc.

 

Personally, I always keep him around, since at best, he really wants to make up for his mistakes and at worst, he's of more use alive than dead. But I find the idea of romancing him... rather disgusting. Even more so because of how he treats the Inquisitor in the romance. Hopefully I don't derail the thread with this.

I thought that I would hate Cole, since there was talk about him having some dark secret, and being a demon. Then I actually get the game, and... it's all untrue. He's actually a really nice guy. And not a demon. It's kind of like the character trailers for ME2, where they made it sound like Jack, Grunt, and Thane were jerks who might decide to murder Shepard or something.

While I plead guilty as charged to finding her cute and loving Ali Hillis's voice, Harding has way more content than Abelas, especially after Jaws of Hakkon. I have no interest in speculative fan fiction, though. I'd like to see what BioWare do with her.

 
Yeah, but people loved Harding before Jaws of Hakkon came out. I know, I was there.

Obviously I do or I wouldn't be participating in this thread. I'm saying that whatever personal choices you make based on character, you should also leave each sexual orientation of protagonist with at least a couple of romance options.

It seems that people are making choices based solely on their own personal fantasy, though. I guess that's fine as nothing that we say in this thread will be anything more than talk. I just thought that leaving a recognisable BioWare game was implicit in the OP's question...

I would like to request that if you do; please don't attack me in the process. I'm a straight female who plays as both male and females and I've romaced Cassandra twice unmodded.

Anyway, to stay on-topic, I don't like the idea of cutting romances at all because I feel like I'm robbing someone of their favorite option , but I gueeeeess I would have replaced the Sera romance with one with Dagna, and made both Solas and Cullen bi.
