You mean the one released in 2013? To use your own ratings i saw it as a sort of tier 2. It is definitely a huge improvement over the older TR games though so perhaps I'm biased in that way. What put you off it?

 

 

Yeah I couldn't get in to Mgs5 either, I liked it alright but not enough to keep playing.

Granted admittedly this is probably my own damn fault but I was so bad at this game kept on dying and dying and dying and dying and dying, and then got stuck on some of the puzzle for like half an hour at a time, and then there were those stupid QTEs.  Poorly handled QTEs is enough to remove an entire tier from a game.  That and no manual saves is pretty much the two things that would cause that.  It wasn't entirely irredemable, the story was not horrible and the ending rocked and there was a lot of neat things you could do with the combat.

Oh yeah the QTEs were terrible, I've died to those myself a lot! The combat and puzzles weren't too bad though for me personally, the gunplay mostly just needed spray and pray to succeed. As for the puzzles, other than a few times when they glitched out and i had to restart, they were pretty straightforward mostly.
