How many squad members do you want in Andromeda?

Less than ME2 and a little more than ME1. And can we please have more than the standard 2 squad mates per mission once in a while? Even if it is just like Citadel DLC or the option to do some stuff sneaking alone before the team joins.

6-8 would be nice, with one male Drell included.

You are a blight!
Sorry, not really anti batarians in principle, but given their virtual annihilation coupled with fact they are an utterly ostrasicised race in the first place them suddenly being brought en masse to new galaxy seems unworkable but maybe they can come up with great explanation for including them.

You don't have to bring a race en masse in an ark ship. All you need is enough genetic material to start the race anew.

That doesn't really explain why you'd do so in the first place though.

The Batarians could offer something of value. Information, technology, who knows. An ark like that would be the (supposedly) last chance for the species' survival, so I think they'd be willing to offer whatever they have for some place in it. I mean, there are krogans no matter what, so it's not as if the people responsible for the ark will deny positions based on past antagonism.

You mean aside from choosing not to commit de facto genocide?

Yep to me they'd have to offer some such explainable benefit to the endeavour.
Just because the batarians are almost extinct doesn't to me seem a viable reason to transplant them to a new galaxy when you consider their standing.

Their standing in the Milky Way is irrelevant to moral imperative and their potential standing in Andromeda. Starting their society over from scratch in a new galaxy with a new dynamic is certainly a compelling reason to include them in the Ark.

Think we'll have to agree to disagree(and see if either of us gets what we want) as i don't see that as a compelling reason to include them.

Anywhere between 6 and 9 would be great for me. Any less and there's not enough variety. Any more and getting to know all of them starts to feel forced.

You mean have something resembling an Actual Squad of people? -which is 7-12 people while popular fiction likes the 4-6 number-

9 has always been my preffered number.

My choice is six. This gives the player 15 squad combinations of two ( the player + 2). Btw, Combinations and Permutations are different. Combinations ignore selection sequence ( AB = BA) but Permutaions do not ( AB and BA count as 2). Go to the following link to get a more indepth explanation: http://stattrek.com/...spx#combination
Chances are that with six you get to play all of them more than a few times. Whereas with more, I tend to use only my favorite ones. (mission parameters not withstanding).
Interesting, if Bio creates a group of seven. Four permanent squad members (the LIs) plus an additional group of three. Selection of two from the group of three is based on decions you make as the game moves forward.
Would the above give value to the game (ie: replayability)?

I see a lot of "between 7 and 9" so that means..... 8.
Two human - one male, one female -- and both bi for reasons.
One Salarian
One Asari
One Turian
One Krogan
Two new species:

As long as there is one blonde Lagertha-esque warmaiden and one Shakespearean Krogan who will quote a poem after a battle, wouldn't mind the rest of the squaddies.
For the first you can use the guy in your avatar
. As for the second......well, Charr is dead.

I want possible squadmembers to be somewhere between 18 and 25 with us getting to chose between 2 or 3. Or the game determining some based on our gender, alingment or past choices. That would end with 9 people on your team. 9 people you want to have on your team.

I'd like about 6-7 active squad members, but 2-3 'developed' crew members, similar to Joker/Samantha/Steve. So I guess it'd be about 8-10 team members overall, but not all of them are on the ground team.

I'd vote for six, it would leave enough resources for 2-3 proper non-combat crew members and interaction between all them.

I would go with six just as others have stated before.
Six high quality squad members who have well developed backstories and input in the conversations and decisions throughout the course of the game is something I would want to see. Not just banter from time-to-time but actual unique input based on who you bring on the mission at the time when you are presented with the current problem.
I'm not saying it is impossible with more than six squad members I just think it would be easier for the developers to create a well rounded cast from a smaller group at first and then add on members as the series progresses.
