Sandstorms could be a good way to change up the gameplay, reducing visibility and maybe messing with shields.
They did that with one of the MP maps in ME3(reduced visibility due to a sandstorm) and it was one of their best maps in my opinion.

What BioWare can learn from Spec Ops: The Line.
How to do a gut-punch ending that actually works? Oh, right sandstorms.

Yes, I forgot that. Though I was thinking more of a storm that rolls in during play causing a change mid-level, like The Line and Uncharted 3 if I remember correctly.

Ah, okay. The map with the acid rain did that in ME3MP, where some rounds there was rain and then there was breaks in the storm, which changed how you played the map.

Or the ME2 Haestrom mission where standing in open sunlight wreaked havoc on shields. It was a nice touch that required more consideration than ducking from cover to cover.
The world Jade Empire is on.

Does "dissuading me from actually buying or even playing the game" count as working?
Not sure how an ending could do that without you playing it.

...it was widely publicized and dissected by the gaming media?

Well I thought it was great but I'm not inclined to argue about it and we're well off topic.
Sandstorms were confirmed in the E3 trailer. A reasonable extrapolation is that different planets will have different weather effects. I'd hope for something as awesome as that storm in Fury Road in that fiery planet.
I could go for a Leviathan type water world that we can actually explore...maybe dump the Hanar there.
Even more I'd like a massive future city to explore - like the Illium port. Sadly if they have something like that it'll end up as dull and lifeless as Val Royeaux was in DAI.
I'd like environmental hazards to effect exploration like solar flares shorting out shields, various visibility problems, toxicity levels meaning you have to get the job done quickly. Plants that are trying to kill you, animals that aren't.

Prove it.
Exploring all the planets for me will be super exciting! By going to a galaxy that has truly never been explored in our lifetime, Bioware has the opportunity to let their imaginations go off the charts so it should be very interesting what we may come across in this new setting! Although, the fire planet from the E3 Announcement trailer truly has my attention.. Seriously, how the hell are we supposed to land on that lmao
- seamless planet landing from orbit? The tech is there as seen in a couple of other new games
- big (procederal generated) terrain to explore with the Mako but better, handcrafted "dungeons" than ME1
- random encounters with some bad dudes to try out that new Thanix turret
- weather effects and day-night-cycle
Some planets with floating colonies; either because of the planet being a gas giant or a greenhouse planet like Venus.
Come on BioWare, don't be surfacist like everyone else. ![]()
Also...I want to explore asteroids,or dwarf planets,or even comets.

As well as pulsars and black holes, and white dwarf stars.
Why not asteroids or comets?Seems quite interesting to me.

I wasn't against that proposition, in fact I agree with you.
The planets in Andromeda will have names. I remember last year when Satoru Iwata passed away, some fans said Bioware should name a planet in MEA after him and Bioware thought that was a good idea and would consider it.
As for what kind of planets I want to explore, all kinds.
I think they should make an analogy of Iwata through a character and call him Ee'Wata... most likely a Salarian. Perhaps it could be a Salarian company similar to Synthetic Insights/Binary Helix esque stuff where he's the creative CEO who tured them from stagnation to success on the market. Perhaps he invented Omni-VR
