guys, there's a thing called "different strokes for different folks" no need to argue over things that are very different for everyone
Can we get submissive male romances?

Oh, so because she's a woman she can't have an aggressive demeanor without facing social ostracism for acting outside gendered expectation?
How sexist. This is precisely why we need threads like this
Thank you

The fact that it's being made at all gives me doubts that it'll be good.
But I'll agree on the romance bit. That isn't going to help.

50 shades of grey only sold so many copies because it got a ridiculous amount of media attention. Like it's the only BDSM themed story in the world. It's a **** book and a bad representation for the BDSM community. #rantover
For real. **** 50 shades.

I don't agree with all this because the strength of a female PC should not be dependent on the submissiveness of a LI, it's quite offensive actually to insinuate that a woman can only be perceived as strong if paired with a "weak" male LI.

Real women don't read that garbage. Just the ones that are messed up in the head. Honestly the underlying premise is that a women will do anything for money.

That's why I mentioned Jack/Male Shep, Miranda/Male Shep. They come off as equals to me, in one way or another. Not necessarily leadership wise, but power and attitude wise. No one feels small in the process.

Isn't that kaiden?
thanks for saving me the trouble of posting the EXACT same thing.
unless OP is asking for full on BDSM, I think Kaiden is 'sub' enough for all of us ![]()

It's quite offensive to insinuated that I said that because I didn't anywhere. You thought it.

Where did you read that I consider ok for a man to be aggressive? Aggressiveness is bad regardless of the gender...full stop.
The human species would be extinct without aggression, instead of topping the evolutionary ladder. Aggression and assertiveness are virtues.
Not that there's anything wrong with being beta and accepting your role. Indeed, that's all OP is asking for. More representation for the doormats of the world, of all genders.

bullshit. that book has been read and analyzed by plenty of real women. academic papers have been published. intellectual discussions have been had. its trash, but its trash that has garnered the first serious mainstream attention for BDSM in ever.
yeah, it blows that its all wrong and stupid, but that doesnt make the people who read it crazy. it makes them curious.

Those are two seperate points. It doesn't say inorder to be a strong female lead we have to have a weaker male co-lead.

I have this weird sense of deja vu. It's like one of those troll threads where the OP constantly brings the subject back to the thing they claim they're not making the thread about, and acting like they can't understand why the thread keeps going back to the subject they keep making it about while pretending they have no idea why it's about that.
Yunno, like one of Skadi's threads.
Also, I'm getting one of those weird "someone conversing with their own alt" vibes, but no one would go to those lengths just to mess with a forum, so I'm sure I'm just reading too much into it.
