not really though, the submissive in a BDSM relationship f.e. is the one that's really in charge (at least in the ones done right)
sometimes people just crave being submissive during sex but are, what's generally considered as strong, throughout their regular day.
sometimes the job requires to be submissive, military especially.

Probably.
Professionally though, I feel like it's a different thing. A lot of people are just specialists and care about their own thing. That's all I meant. But their attitude is never submissive exactly. Any job really. Not just the military.
