Is this plausible? I mean I know hes kind of missing a limb but in a world with magic im sure that shouldn't be too much of a problem. The way things ended it just seemed as though Solas and the inquisitor have some unfinished business. With Solas going to destroy the world and revert it back to the way it was before he created the veil, it seems fitting that the one who will stop him will be the inquisitor. They've been together since the beginning and can be considered the best of friends, (even more if you romanced him) Am I the only one in thinking that it would be an amazing story to see a solasmancer/good friend of solas have to be the one who eventually puts solas down? Additionally, we see the inquisitor stab a knife in the middle of tevinter on the map (pretty subtle bioware). I know they said they wanted dragon age to have new protagonists every game, but it seems like a much better story could be told if they continue with the same character as before. What do you guys think? Thank you all for reading this and I look forward towards reading your input.

Quizzy won't be the protagonist for DA4. Almost certainly a major character though.

Definitely prefer it this way.

I definitely hope so. With how the story and world is set up, I would much rather play as the Inquisitor again than start with a new protagonist.

I just came back to these forums after a LONG time so I didn't know it was such a touchy subject lmao I wasn't able to find a thread like this that discusses this question after trespasser came out so I am curious as to everyones opinions. =P

Ah.  Well there has been...at least three to my knowledge, and a couple taking the opposite position.

My opinion is rather ambivalent to the whole thing.  I want the Inquisitor back as he player character very, very much and continue their story, especially Kara Trev, but I do not see BioWare doing it and I see nothing in Tresspassers narrative to really suggest the Inquisitor will be back as the hero for DA 4. Quite the opposite in fact.

Because I know it will be mentioned by someone, I'll post the David Gaider remark from this interview.

Were there any things, again, because you mentioned before that your original story plan for Inquisition was twice as long as what players ended up with...

The length of the plot arc. It wasn't like we had twice as much content. The amount of ground we were going to cover with the story was twice as long. And the rest of that plot arc still exists. So, it's now in Patrick Weeks hands. Good luck, buddy! Good luck going the rest of the distance! And we'll see how he does that.

I'm just taking a "wait and see" attitude. Plans change, as his statement illustrates.

Since you asked, I'm very much attached to my Inquisitor and also feel that he should be present in some capacity -- not necessarily as the PC -- when the whole Solas issue is resolved. However, I know Bioware's previously stated stance regarding the different protagonists for the DA games, and will not be surprised or devastated if it doesn't happen.

I'm in favor of dual protagonist with the new protagonist having the primary focus to allow for news eyes and exploration of the Tevinter setting and the Inquisitor with a very small secondary focus that is tied to scenes with Solas.

Basically, the Inquisitor is controlled in scene(s) with Solas.

Bonus if there, at some point, is dialogue between the new and old protagonist where the player selects both character's dialogue options.

I do understand if Bioware decides not to do this or have other ideas. I just feel it could be a neat idea that I'd like to see tried.

I doubt Bioware will change the new protagonist model for the next title. Nor do I think they should. Seems to have worked well so far in the DA series. I'm still conflicted about Hawke's reappearance in DA:I. On one hand, yay! Hawke! On the other, most of the dialog left me with a feeling of "That is not the reaction my Hawke would have had!"

I'm sure there will, at the very least, be codex's and NPC's talking about the Inquisitor. The inquisitor appearing as a controllable character though? Push that thought out of your head.

I see the Inquisitor coming back but like most Bioware games there will be a new PC. Maybe the new hero could be the successor to the Inquisition.

Unlikely, given the Inquisitor's declaration that they will have to find people Solas doesn't know how to deal with.

Plus, y'know, the arm.

Fair enough I just figured it would be hard to find someone more powerful than the inquisitor (especially a mage). By the end of the story you seemed part god yourself lol.

Yeah, the Inquisitor definitely needs to be back.

You don't drop out of the storyline after swearing to kill/save the villain. It's makes no sense narratively.

If I'm being honest I don't think I could survive another base game with the Inquisitor. The character is just too bland until you finish Trespasser.

They like to drop characters storylines all the time - plus nothing in the DA universe makes much sense anymore.... We have half baked awnsers to our questions; and who's to say they'll decide to troll us with the lack of the Inqusitor? At this point - I just want them to tell us rather then leaving us hanging, lol.

But you lost a great deal of that power when Solas removed the Mark. And learning to fight with one arm won't be easy, even as a mage.

All the more reason to stop dropping characters now.

What doesn't make sense to you?

Who knows how Bioware thinks.... Maybe they'll do it to troll us, or something.

Well.... The Evenurus, the Black City, and etc.

Saving some answers for the next game isn't the same as not makng sense... It's called being a series of games, rather than a standalone game...

Major character. Potentially dual protagonist, though that is as unlikely as me being hit by a lightning today. (Mind you, there are no storms around this part of year... ever.)

Well you said nothing makes sense anymore as well. I haven't seen anything that is contradictory or that is going to cause issues in future games...

Give me twenty minutes - my iPads gonna die on me (Legit excuse).

And we really have no idea about who are the ArchDemons? Are they the Evenuras? Or are they simply powerful dragons that got corrupted otherwise? Why are the Darkspawn existing? What happened to get them Darkspawn? Is a Darkspawn Magister Broodmother which stared it all (Becuase one of the Arhdemons is female) ? How did the Magisters enter the Black City? What is the Black City? Was it Golden originally? How did the taint start? Why did it turn people into monsters into the first place....

Lol, we have no IDEA! Besides for the fact that WOT says all Darkspawn Magisters were male - I don't think so as one of the ArchDemons is female... So wouldn't that make her Magister a female? Well - that also doesn't make sense to me.
