Part 1 of my Patrick Weekes Interview is here...

Watch it below or (if you want to help me out - listen on Soudcloud (it's what my boss checks)

Some of what we cover includes:

- His origins
- Training the player to do the wrong thing
- Looking at the evolution of the media comparing it to the beginning of film
- It’s harder now to get a job than ever before, focus on the nonlinear narrative
- Get the application called TWINE! Get a job.
- Weekes talks extensively about the HORROR of “Peer Reviews”
- The most common mistakes that still happen in the writer’s room
- Key piece of advice “Make sure the player knows where to go next, and what he has to do when he’s there”

Thank you all again for being the best humans EVER

I think this is what separates the great games from meh/nonmainstream games.

If you get a game and it handles well from the start, not a huge learning curve etc (if you play on casual/normal) and it's easy to build your character etc...it tends to be popular as long as it is well written.

Maybe it's just me but I found Witcher 1 for example was huge and I needed a walk through to get the game finished versus Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 which I found the controls to be better and things weren't so "hidden" like in the first game.

Or it's the difference between a game like Bound by Flame and Dragon Age Origins, i'm a bit into Bound by Flame, and it had massive potential but there are just a few things off with it.

Great interview ^_^ I'm sad that one of the things they found exciting and innovative was the zoomed out conversations with no cinematics though :( I wish they would at least zoom in on the person talking(like in the Bethesda Fallout games) so I could feel more connected.
