yes

Shepard's adventure rtilogy is unlike anything else, Mass Effect is the new star wars, ME:A is going to be a success in the whole galaxy and in andromeda

And look at happened to Star Wars: 2 good films followed by 4 crappy films.

Mass Effect: 2 good games followed by 1 very s**ty one.

I am sensing a trend here.

Also, "Shepard's adventure trilogy" as you put it, is nothing more then a copy and paste of other films and video games.

I would argue that both ME3 and Star Wars VII were not shitty but it is more or less a question of personal taste. If the ending would have been different I am quite sure that most people would say that ME3 was the best of the bunch and frankly Star Wars movies have never been "OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING", not for people who have experienced movies with much better special effects and equally good story even on tv(stargate, star trek, firefly, many more).

The problem is that people expected it to be the greatest movie of all time. It was never going to be but some people can't manage their own expectations.

Unlike ME3 which developers were promising that it was going to be THE Mass Effect game.

Of course, ME is one of BioWare's biggest games. Probably their biggest game. A lot of butthurt fans are like "I'm not going to buy this game, I'll wait til reviews!" I bet they will be the same ones that pre-ordered the collectors edition and will be first in line at their local gamestop talking to the customers saying "Yeah I'm a huge fan!"

I think this is hitting it head on, there are things VII could have done better but there's nothing it did really wrong either unlike the prequels, I went into it knowing absolutely nothing not even having seen trailers and managed to avoid spoilers on the internet, I think that helped a bit not having built any notable expectations beforehand. As it stands id probably rate it equal to a A New Hope and Empire.

What made you drop DAI if you dont mind me asking?

Fast answer : plain simple boredom. The bulletpoints version would be from worst problem to least problem :

I didn't get into the story and no character/companion where interesting enough to drag me in.
The power mechanic broke the pace of the game for me. Go solve this urgent problem ! but first wander around for a a few hours to collect enough points. Almost same problem with high level areas you can reach early but with Xp. Story and gameplay should not be antagonist.
I really don't like the concept of in game "browser games" so the wartable was a no no.
As a big fan of open world environments I didn't find enjoyement in their take on it.

Bioware telling a story in an open world environement seemed like a match made in heaven, was I in for a rude awakening.

My best hope is that it's very hard to catch lightning twice :-) .

I'm more afraid that it'll be a success, initially, like Fallout 4.

And then slowly you realize that its mediocre game that was over hyped and sold way to well so they'll just stream/make it worse with upcoming sequels. I mean, I already see warning signs like, for instance, one of the writers for ME:Andromeda being the lead writer behind Halo 4.

Except FO 4 wasn't a mediocre game, people just had too many expectations of it. FO's never had a good story, even when Obsidian did it..it was more about the experience. There's still been no DLC yet and that's where FO's usually shined, except for Honest hearts..it was boring.  Halo 4's story wasn't that bad either, just most Halo fans wanted it to end at 3.

Yeah, nothing says "Ooh, pre-order!" like having to play MP for SP rewards... <_<

Also "Your Crew, Your Story"?  Yeah, right.  Heard it before.  Even if the document is legit, why should I believe it after ME3's wild claims?

You believed their pre-release claims about ME3 and bought the game anyways. You believed whatever claims they said about DA:I, and bought it. So you will do the same for this game.

Beth games have always been terrible since Morrowind. People just let them get away with anything because they actively support modding with their games, which is absolutely awesome, but if any other company released such buggy, incomplete messes as their stuff is people would freak and have a field day. Not unlike how people reacted to DAI which was a nightmare of glitches and problems when it first came out, or so I'm told, because I didn't play it until much later.

No disrespect to anybody who enjoys their stuff, but I like to be able to play a game right away when I buy it and not need to spend weeks downloading fan made stability patches, graphic fixes and mods to correct things that never should have been there in the first place.

I was a bit nervous how Andromeda was going to turn out after 3. Just started Inquisition last week and i now have complete trust in BioWare knocking it clean out of the park with Andromeda.

Terrible? No they weren't, and that's just your personal opinion anyways..not facts. People complain about glitches but unless it's something like a quest breaking bug then it isn't that big of a deal. I played Fallout 4 when it first came out and had no problems other than random vertibirds flying around sometimes that crashed out of nowhere. That didn't bother me because it was actually kinda funny watching it happen. People "let them get away" with it because Beth actually tries to improve their games. The amount of time they spent on Fallout's combat system is greatly appreciated

Not me. I'd love see them rise like a phoenix from the ashes...but they've had multiple chances now, and like Bethesda they may be stuck in a routine. Nothing kills innovation more.

Trying to constantly innovate when it isn't necessary is what many believed has really hurt or killed Sonic The Hedgehog.

Fallout 4 is games of extreme wins and extreme losses:

It's combat, CC, and the overall world design are huge wins.

However:

It's main story is average at best and most of the time the Main Quest is pretty forgettable most of the time and IMHO makes the MQ in DA:I look like Shakespeare.

"Father" is horrible villain even Harbinger and The Elder One was better in ME3 and DA:I were at least they had a "so bad it's good kind of way" kind of vibe to them.

The dialogue wheel is horrible to the point where I don't think that "text box" mod would even redeem it.

The map sucks and trying to find a new place is a pain in the ass.

I did buy into ME3 claims.  That's on me.  I won't make that mistake again.

I did not get DAI until I thoroughly spoiled myself.

It's sad that it's had to come to this.

Looks like ME:A will have to wait until 2017 to be a possible hit. EA will miss the holiday shopping spree. Jan-Feb is too soon, so March it is.

The reason is simple, there is no game like it out there. There are no other scifi rpg out there. Nothing that combines storytelling with galaxy spanning adventure and action like ME games.

I just hope they make MEA better than ME3 I kinda want more games like this.

Given the utter absence of any official information on the game let alone in-game footage, how do you know there's nothing out there like it? Chances are extremely high that there will be a lot of games out there like it because Bioware do not do revolution, they do evolution. From Baldur's Gate to Dragon Age Inquisition, you can see clear progression. Similarly from KoTOR to ME3, there isn't a great deal of difference in terms of gameplay. If they're true to form I would expect MEA to be no different in this regard.

I guess I might be living proof for this thought. I still HATE the Ending of ME3 and think Bioware made it all wrong from the very first minutes of ME2 up to Star Child, completely ruining the potential of the story, or any story (ME2 was just ... a long recruiting mission without much connection to the overall plot, which led to ME3 feeling way too rushed for the giant conflict it was made up to portray ... but enough of thi.

Andromeda? I am still unsure what to make of it, but hopeful. Because really, there are no games like it, with a potentially female bad-ass protagonist in space in an RPG. Its all fantasy or pure FPS at best...so the sheer need drives me back into this universe ^^

Also, Bioware is clever enough wit the setting in a new galaxy, I'll give them that. They can totally ignore all the bullshite they created with the last two MEs, take any elements that were good (for nostalgic fans like me) and don't have to worry about alienating potential new customers (the main reason as I see it why ME'S story failed - the fear of really dedicating to tell a comprehensive story where you NEED to have played other titles to "get it" - they tried a mishmash of this but ME2's story for that reasons fails, and the trilogy with it...)

And if they are REALLY clever, they will never try to go back to the whole "all your choices matter" and connected trilogy-thing. Will never work anyway. They can keep the protagonists maybe, but each ME-game of the future should be mostly stand-alone, and the overall-plot should be linear, with only minor details varying from player's choice to player's choice - that don't pretend to affect the big world....

Well at least as much as the dialogue sucking is true. Compared to any other Fallout it's very underwhelming.

No meter what u think. Game will be a success.

Can be big or can be small success but it will be a success.

ME 3 isnt a bad game, not everything hate the ending and Bioware actually go and "fix it" a part of it.

I know this is late bc is from page behind Fo4 is a success no meter what some hater clain or how much old fans get mad at it. Games evolve for the sake of getting new fans. Witcher 3 from all the success it got if u compare to other big game this year like GTA and Fallout is come behind bc it sell worst and that was really meter.

Plus how many ppl keep playing Witcher 3?? no much, games like Fallout or GTA keep players playing and that is good bc they keep player interesting in the next game.

ME did something similar to Fallout or GTA but it happen bc it focus on a type of game that u dont find often. Like something say here ME trilogy become SW trilogy.

There is alot of ppl interesting on the next ME. Hell i have friend that watch the 1m trailer and got hype bc the music and the idea of exploring planets.

in part u are right. But similar happen to the Witcher where u have a good story with good dialogues and u have horrible combat and empty maps that are big for the sake of been big.

I think part of why we had such strong reaction to the ending was that we loved the game too much, we expected too much. I  have seen similar from long time Star Trek and Star Wars fans when the new movies came out. A lot of them didn't like it.

My biggest bone of contention with them is that instead of going for the sliding scale of endings aka DAO they went for multiple divergent ones and frankly not the best ones. If they had gone for the sliding scale type I think the response would have been far more positive. Plus there would be no need to jump through hoops(Andromeda) to continue the series.

I'm just hoping they make Andromeda more akin to ME1 and ME2. ME3 was just a gears clone with RPG elements. The only thing they should take from ME3 is multiplayer. Andromeda single player should feel like a child ME1 and ME2 took time to conceive during gentle love.

To date I have never captured a game the likes of ME or DA franshise.

There are just "critiques" to be made like for any game.

The plusses outways the  minusses so much I honestly don't care about the ending of ME3, like the  game  is just that!!  The in between all of a sudden is vanished because of an "bad" ending.

The story + gameplay elements is what Bioware  stands for and yes in other games you mostly get one or the other.  For me none other  games rivels Bioware despite not generating blockbuster sales numbers.

I am just gratefull they exist and make games I end up playing for hours and hours.

couldn't have put it better myself

You'll find few bigger critics of ME3's ending (and major elements of its plot) than me, but I still love the series, and I still play ME3 to this day.  I think there is still loads of potential in the ME universe, and I look forward to something that is both fresh and exciting.
