This isn't quite accurate. All of the design work on the BG games and NWN 1 was handled in-house by Bio. Black Isle was only the publisher for BG and nothing at all for NWN.
But you're right about the other games. Bio had nothing to do with NWN2, any Fallout game, or the Icewind Dale games.
Orrrrrrr my all time favourite Planescape: Torment, which I feel was the gem of that era.... Anyways! I feel that despite the whole fiasco with ME3's endings, ME:A will still be profitable.

I don't really consider Bioware to really be credited with Baldur's Gate, Fallout 2, Neverwinter Nights, or the Icewind Dale games.... Those are Black Isles Studios and Obsidian Games, one of which still develops quality isometric RPGs and action-RPGs.
Bioware is more KOTOR, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age.... And I've been playing games since the early 90s so.... *shrug*
I feel that they'll do well because they're an EA product and will get a fair amount of advertising.... And because even when EA fucks up, they still seem to make a dime somehow. Simcity and Battlefront EA to name a few :V

On the cover "Developed by Bioware Corp" Black Isle is also listed, but t's clearly a joint project.

Executive Producers: Ray Muzaka, Greg Zeschuk
Core Design Team: Dave Gaider, Brent Knowles, Luke Kristjanson, John Gallagher
Lead Programmer: Mark Darrah
Other familiar names are there as well

The type of person who has a forum account from 15 years ago and is still consistently posting is highly likely to like everything that company puts out.
By definition, sure. In my case, Bio has kept just about everything that I liked about their games in particular, thrown out some stuff that I was neutral about or actively hostile to, and added stuff which I'm, at worst, OK with.

It's a shame that they've apparently all caught amnesia and can no longer design or produce a wholesome game with an interesting narrative. It's almost like those they were collaborating with helped or something... I unno... Especially since they went on to produce quality games in this era aside from Bioware.
Then again I'm a crazy ******, so who knows :V

I wouldn't exactly say BG1 or NWN1 had a good/interesting narrative. In terms of story quality, we basically just have BGII and then KoTOR (leaping over NWN except for arguably HoTU), then JE, then the modern games.

Fair enough.
Though, I hope you realize that the trailer is only representative of Bio's goal for ME:A. .... says so in the trailer.
Of course I realize that... why would you assume that I didn't? I'm one of the people here who have been saying that the trailers don't establish any sort of "canon" for the game and people are speculating too much about them. A preliminary survey doesn't establish anything either since, presumably, if an idea didn't survey well, they might change that idea.

NWN had it's moments, but they were mostly tied in with the larger Forgotten Realms mythos and definitely weren't the main story. I enjoyed HotU and all of Kingmaker's modules despite them being slightly campy at times.
I'd say the overall Forgotten Realms portrayed in their games and even the individual stories felt more cohesive than the ME trilogy, which at points felt very forced.... Forced and awkward.
However I think the characters in the ME games were better written and had larger personalities than the earlier games.

That's because the old forums didn't transfer over to here, the OLD OLD forums. The original bioware forums where you find "legacy" games.

OOHH I remember now. That's why I can't find that page where you could see all your wardens (and all their profile pics) and how many playthroughs you have of all your games.
It's because it's in the old forums.
Damnit, how can I see how many playthroughs/wardens I have?? Pretty sure I deleted some in game and I was hoping it was all uploaded to the cloud.

And there was a forum that was even older than that version, where people would post Persistent World information and stuff. It was for the early 2000s era and late 90s ^.^ Looked like a VB Bulletin forum.

As long as the multiplayer/combat is good, it'll sell (I'll certainly buy it).
Personally I stopped caring about the main story since ME2 which turned both the reapers and protheans into a joke.

MEA despite ME3 is still going to be a hit.
DAI despite DA2 is still going to be a hit.
I am hopeful though, bioware knows about weak points from previous games and it's reaction from getting a feedback was always one of the best (it only works for the next game, understandably though). One can hope bioware can reach current gold standart for rpgs(w3).

Yep, the Reaper plot was never particularly good and just went full retard in ME2, so I was entirely nonplussed when it concluded with a stinker. The side plots like the Genophage and Quarian-Geth relations ended up being more compelling than robo Cthlulu (though they both had dumpster fire writing in ME3 as well).
Oh, and multiplayer ended up being better than all of it.

The profiles reset when they moved us over from social.bioware.com. I've been here since the nerdrage was all about how Bio needed to fire the morons who wrote NWN and hire back the geniuses who wrote BG2. (Of course, they were the same people.)*lurks on AlanC9's profile* Do you mean... 5 years? 2010

"The reason is simple, there is no game like it out there."
I kinda wonder sometimes, why that is. Youd think aliens and space themed exploration-adventure games would be a huge hit... Why is there so few of them?
