I played through 2 characters of dragon age but I wanted to save my trespasser playthrough once I got golden nug. My buddy just showed me the ending to the game on youtube and now I have that same feeling I had at the end of ME3 like WTF?? I lose my arm and I have to break up the inquisition? Trust me I'm huge Bioware fan but the last two games they have made our protagonist has kind of gone out wimpy. Shepard dying the way he did and a 1 arm Inquisitor? What next Varric loses his leg? Question did anyone actually hate this ending?

1. Shepard does not always die.

2. You do not have to disband the Inquisition.

I think it would be better if you tried the ending for yourself. Yes, Solas takes your arm which saves your life because the mark would eventually kill you otherwise. However, you can keep the Inquisition (or disband it and form a smaller, secret organisation). You can keep your love interest. Well, unless you romanced Solas. The Inquisitor will still be very alive and very busy, and I think it's likely we'll at least hear about them in DA4.

I had the exact opposite reaction you did! Absolutely amazing ending in my opinion, can't wait to see where it leads in DA4!

Playing thorough Trespasser never gave me that feeling at all.  It felt dramatic, like the end of something awesome and the beginning of something frightening, and exciting.

I like the way it sets up the next game, I thought that was quite clever.  Have you played it yet?  Go through the process and I'd wager you'll feel differently once you've done it.  :)

Btw losing your arm doesn't make you wimpy.  It makes your Inquisitor even more of a badass.

I would give anything to play trespasser but, as of now I have a PS3 and Xbox 360.. Maybe I will breakdown and buy a PS4 or Xbox 1 so I can play this game.

Anyway You Tube is not always the best research tool simply because every gamer plays their game differently and therefore those videos can be misleading.

I use them as a guide but,I may have to watch several videos to find the right solution.

Watching it is one thing, experiencing it is another. This may be your initial reaction but I'd keep an open mind and try it, start to finish. You may be surprised. :)

Now think about this from a Mage perspective. I played a Mage in Origins Hero of Ferelden was a supreme Bada** romanced a hot girl like Morrigan rides off into the sunset. Thin DA2 which most people hated at the time I played a Mage, Hawke kills Meridth has crazy friends like Anders and is a loner and goes on his own. Now my inquisitor who was more powerful both combined now is a broken down old mage with 1 arm?. He couldn't even beat Wynne from DAO now. A mage without an arm is utterly useless can you imagine Gandalf or Merlin without an arm? Once again just like ME3 my character is useless at the end of the game.

I actually screamed in triumph my first time I was playing the ending.  And considering it was like 4 in the morning I was a bit...worried. :P

Uh...yes?  Granted they might have a little trouble gripping their staves but magic is probably the class least likely to suffer from the lack of an arm.  Besides the Inquisitor still has their sanity, their health, the relationship they spent years forging.  And...their mind.  Perhaps the Inquisitor's most important weapon considering they, not Hawke or the Warden, led a massive political/ military organization.

I am trying to remember the quote but it was during the...keep the Inquisition speech.  Oh yeah it was the moment when the Inquisitor goes "And we certainly won't bow to an emperor who we put there."

I did play a mage, and she certainly isn't useless because she lost an arm. Even warriors and rogues aren't, there are plenty of one handed ways to fight, not to mention prosthetics (Iron Bull was going to have one in his original design!). It certainly won't stop my mage who can kill people with her mind, she's more of a badass than ever!

Plenty of badass protagonists out there with one arm - Luke Skywalker, Furiosa...

I know, right? I was mind-blown. Trespasser kept me on my toes the entire time. Especially towards the end. So many shocking discoveries, so much tension, so much fun. I had a blast.

Losing an arm made me slightly uncomfortable for a moment, but after the initial shock wore off, I felt exactly the same about it. My Lavellan went through all that crap and she did so with her head held high. It was amazing. If anything, I thought, "SHE STILL HAS ONE ARM LEFT TO STAB YOU, SOLAS! That's more than she needs anyway." (Well, spirit-sword stab, since she's a mage. :P ) She still had all her friends in the end. All that mattered anyway. Then, as shown by the ending slides, she hanged out  with the Friends of Red Jenny, had "video calls" with her BFF Dorian, finally got her honeymoon, kept working to get Solas' treacherous ass, etc. I found the ending to be very dramatic, but also very positive and uplifting.

That comes from a person that DESPISES, like DESPISES, ME3's ending because of how poorly written it was.

Inquisitor can get a prosthetic too. Bioware wouldn't have drawn up designs for an Iron Bull with them if they didn't think they existed in the setting.

I know.  Some of the most interesting discussions have resulted from the whole ending was the kind of prosteitcs the Inky could get.

Depends on your characters. Mine will bounce back stronger than ever with a Stone Fist fashioned to mimic his left hand.

But I do agree that this ending is pretty bad. The storyline didn't make sense, and the game was forced and rushed. It did not allow for player choice.

Considering Tresspasser was the most choice driven piece of gaming content I think I have ever played...

Meh Kara is happy one way or another.  Taking a step back, and livng a somewhat more quiet life with Cullen in an estate in Ferelden or the Free Marches.  Probably running the Inquisition in part, or handing the reins over to someone else.

You should have hit your buddy with a sock filled with pennies for showing you the end before you played it.  Besides there are real benefits to having only one hand.

You don't have to applaud anyone any more.

You can get people to drive you around in carriages now and even use the handicapped spots for your horse.

when you face palm everyone will know that you really mean it.

You can annoy Cassandra by thrusting your non-hand in front of every book or scroll when she stabs it and you can then laugh at her.

You can get people to scratch your back for you.

You can annoy your group by wearing an eye patch and going Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr at them all the time.

You can attach an ale tankard to your stump and get free sympathy drinks.

How were choices any more limited here than in the other games?

Trespasser is everything ME3's ending and DLC wasn't (though Citadel comes closest). It's a wonderful cap off to DAI.
