I remember watching '6 feet under' with male friends and watching them cringe at the same sex kissing when first exposed to it. Now, most of them don't act shocked when seeing it. It's been normalized and that's good. I hope the same can happen for transgender people. I think it will.
I, for one, would still cringe.. just because it's not my thing (not that I've seen that show though. I heard it's good).
But I know gay people who would cringe at some straight things.
Ironically, I understand.. And I appreciate this honesty. So long as each side doesn't de-humanize the other, it works out.
I think that's a big problem of the "conversation" now.. where people are expected to play along, not be honest, and not actually be themselves.. to celebrate things they don't care about. Else they're looked at as bad people. It's only going to build up resentment.
