#hardtowritefor #easytolove

@davidgaider I've already gushed directly. Instead I'll pass along that Luke just said he's that much closer to winning the tontine.

@bengelinas Punch Luke in the shoulder for me.

@davidgaider @bengelinas I trust Luke has deployed his traditional "Heh, I knew he wouldn't last."

@Mike_Laidlaw @davidgaider You are correct.

@Mike_Laidlaw @bengelinas Funny how, after each one of us leaves, Luke looks even younger than before. #suspicion

@davidgaider @bengelinas We are all the portraits of Lukas Kristjanson.

@davidgaider Best of luck, David. Thanks for everything you've done - both for BioWare and the industry - these years.

@davidgaider All the very best, Sir!

Will miss him being at Bioware, and wish all the best while moving forward. In the meantime, I would love to see him on TableTop over at Geek & Sundry with some other past Bioware folks.

Well, hopefully this doesn't affect the book he was supposed to be writing about Fenris.  I'll be looking forward to it, and whatever he does next.

Certainly a key cog in BioWare for a long time, met him on a few occasions, very cerebral person.  The type of person one enjoys having a beer with to discuss just about any topic I would imagine.

I guess he could still write novels or a comic series set in Thedas for Bioware. They contract freelancers at the moment, of course, to do exactly that. In fact, perhaps with more spare time (or less work time dominated by writing for the 'New IP'), it's more possible now than it was before - assuming he wished to, of course.

Well we don't know what he's going to do. If he's leaving for another company he may have no free time at all as he heads over there, gets the lay of land, settles in and starts filling his brain with all of the information regarding whatever new thing he's working on.

Well, this came out of nowhere.  He's one of my favorites, I'm sad  :(

I'll be keeping an eye out for what he does in the future though!  ^_^

Good news.

Nothing to say in regard of some of his characters in the DA franchise, some of them were well written (but only some like FLemeth in DAI).
However i never liked the writing of the main plot of any of the DA games of whom he was lead writer.

Cheers, sir!

Had a feeling this was going to happen the day he announced he was done working on DA. I wish him the best.

If he doesn't end up working for another studio, I expect he will be writing his own novels like Drew K. (who has since returned to BioWare).

OH I hadn't considered him writing novels full-time. That would certainly be interesting, and I'd definitely pick them up. That said, it would seem like a loss for the gaming industry. There are millions of novel writers and vastly fewer game writers of his caliber and experience. The experience factor might even be more important in this case.

Sometimes you just need a change of direction in a creative field... but damn if this didn't take the wind out of my sails for today.

On the upside, the creativity and diversity he helped bring to BioWare games will continue, and we can look forward to that in future games and be grateful for it. It's a good legacy to leave.

So sad to hear this. Mr Gaider has written a great many of my favourite video game characters ever, as well as being the father of Dragon Age. Bioware will not be the same without his snark and cleverness.

If you're reading David, all the very, very best for the future and thankyou so much for some of my loveliest video game memories over the years  <3

You do realise, right, that there would be no DA at all without him, since he was the guy who built the world?
