You do realise, right, that there would be no DA at all without him, since he was the guy who built the world?
Strange that no one posted a comment how his departure is due to EA in some ways.....

.@davidgaider And so a true legend exits the stage, leaving us all to wonder with eager anticipation: where will he show up next?
This news made my day!
Let us hope that the future main plots of the Dragon age game will improve a bit.
Great contribution. Thanks.

EA has nothing to do with who does what, AFAIK.
I'm not at all upset by this. Mr Gaider is doing what's best for him at this time, and I wish him well.
Good riddance)
Maybe they'll hire someone talented this time.
Well now i'm sad.
I think maybe he was planning to leave after Dragon Age Inquisition but they asked him to stay and help establish the foundations of the world for the new IP or maybe he really was feeling burned out and the new IP didn't give him what he thought he needed or maybe he just wants to do something else.
Either way, it's a loss for the gaming world really

Went to chat with the editors. @bengelinas points out the superfluous comma in my departure tweet. This is why editors are vital, people.
Does this mean Dwarf romances are coming for DA 4 ?
^ I've seen several comments like that from people in this thread and on other game news outlets. Apparently many people didn't know that he had left DA even before Trespasser and would thus have had no say about DA4 anyway.
Sad news are sad.
Mr Gaider, you'll be missed! Best wish of luck to you!

Incredibly sad to see this news, he's has been one of my favourite video game writers and given me one of my favourite worlds to play in, be inspired by. Dragon Age has been an escape when the world was harsh and even when everything was great and going to Thedas was just the cherry on top. David Gaider helped create a world I loved, a world that made me laugh and cry and made my heart race, a world of adventure i've shared with my friends and we've loved sharing that adventure together.
David Gaider wasn't the only person that worked on Dragon Age but he was there in the beginning and he helped build the foundations of this wonderful, magical world that means more to me than the English language, or Elvish, or Qunlat, or Antivan, or Nevarran, or Orlesian can describe.
Dragon Age gave me countless hours of joy and that's true for so many. The collective hours of happiness all those players were given because of the wicked wonderful creative mind of David Gaider is far beyond counting. That is a legacy that's pretty damn awesome.
Looking forward to seeing what adventures he brings us next, if he so chooses, because if David Gaider is at the helm, i'm on board
He didn't die, you know?
Hah you're right, I just assumed he would move on to writing novels but that is presumptuous. I would apologize for how dramatic I sounded but I was just posted something even more dramatic so I will just go back to being ridiculous in silence ![]()

Terrible rebuttal. There would be no Star Wars without George Lucas, after all.
Huge lose for BioWare, he wrote my fav characters of all the DA games an will be a huge miss for me, basically just another reason not to pick up another DA game tbh, only one left really is to see how it goes an in what direction
I'll be keeping my eye out though for sure to see where he ends up
Waiting and in anticipation

If he left and it was his decision then you should be happy for him.
I know some were not happy with DA: I as well.

Just because we lament his departure doesn't mean we don't support his decision for himself, wish him well, and all that good stuff. People can feel multiple things. =/
Wrote some of my most favorite game characters, let alone DA characters. Damn. ![]()
