“It’s like a journey into the past, but Beamdog has a lot of plans so I don’t think I’m retreading old ground necessarily,” he said. “But even then, those are fond memories for me. Baldur’s Gate II was the first game I’ve ever worked on. I was kind of thrown into it and now it’s 17 years later… It feels very invigorating to shake things up and try something new.”

Beamdog Welcomes David Gaider
We're very pleased to welcome David Gaider to the company as our new creative director. Originally we advertised for the position of senior writer, but when David contacted Trent about the position, we upgraded the role.
David is well known for his design and writing work on Baldur’s Gate 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age: Origins. He brings 17 years of experience to our little team and we couldn't be happier to work with him. David will lead the writing team and direct new creative endeavors for the company.
Welcome, David!
NEW: Feb. 8/16
Starting a new job: 25% paperwork, 25% documentation, 150% confusion. I definitely need more stuff on my desk.
Some news: I must sadly announce that, after 17 years, today is my last day at BioWare. I'll miss my team, and wish everyone here the best.
best of luck Dave. We'll miss you!!
I'm sad that @davidgaider is leaving BioWare, he'll be greatly missed! Rest assured that development on #BioWare's New IP continues unabated
And it will be awesome.

Gaider confirmed that it was his choice to leave in an email to Polygon. "It was indeed my decision, one not made easily since BioWare's been very good to me, and the parting is amicable," he wrote. "It's simply time to move onto a new challenge."
"As to where I'm headed next, that announcement will come in due time — today's about saying goodbye and packing up," he added.
Going away present: rescue dog with dice!
